Congrats to all who did amazingly well. This is my last time on this forum because I feel worse and worse about myself every time I see “2320 first time” with "will be retaking ". I will study my arse off and try to attain what you can do on your first attempt. I know it all depends on the person and I’m happy for you, I really am, but I just can’t keep making myself feel so down by looking at all these posts!

hi,
my daughter who is in junior year got 1680(march 2011). she took princeton review classes last year and got 1550.now she did blue book, pr book too. still low scores. but her cumulative gpa is 3.72 right now, and extra curricular activities, volunteer hrs(about 300hrs) are good.

can she get admission into UW(university of washington (seattle)?

@sounders She seems to have a pretty good GPA, but her test scores don’t match up. Is there something going on there? Perhaps there’s a processing deficit or ADHD or something that has yet to be picked up on, because as I said, a 3.72 is pretty good, but does not correspond with a 1680. Maybe you guys should reevaluate here and see if there’s something you’re missing. We figured out this year that I have a severe processing deficiency (previously no one believed me because I still managed to retain my 4.0 UWGPA), but after I got extra time in class, my grades went up even further (though CollegeBoard still hasn’t granted me extra time).

That being said, if she is a URM with good EC’s, essays, reccomendations, community service, etc., there could be a pretty fair chance for her to get in to UWash.

Reading all of these posts reminds me – when people tell their scores they usually enhance them by a factor of 15%-20%. For those of you out there that honestly know what they did, keep that in mind when reading these posts from the people who say, “Darn, 2230, thought I did better!” Most of them are full of doo-doo. Don’t believe me? Ask to see their score report (online, not one they send you) and you’ll see the denials start flying.

For example, in a great high school near me, I heard that 30 kids got 2400’s! “My friend did! Her cousin did!” etc. When the scores were released by school, there was 1 2400 in the school. The other 29?

1800 is a great score. 2000 is an amazing score. Anyone who says “first time, 2340, I’m disappointed…” is simply full of &($*&, or just being coy.

“What are all of you guys doing, that I’m not doing??? Extra studying? Just overall smartness??”

^ lol, what do you think? Everyone’s slogging as much as they could (even if its to sacrifice watching their favorite soccer club play its match). Keep studying until you feel that you’ve done some work worthy of improving your score and don’t worry about what others might be doing. Study to an extent till you are pleased with yourself, this will get you the scores of your desire.

I don’t know. I tend to give CC’ers the benefit of the doubt. However, if any of that was true, then I would feel a lot better about my 2050. Anyway, if you look at top colleges SAT range it shows that many kids are indeed scoring well and many of those kids are on here.
