My first choice was Wake Forest but I didn’t get in. Was accepted by Colgate and Elon – waitlisted everywhere else. Please help with this decision.

I’m wondering why you would have applied to the highly selective Colgate if you are not, as indicated by your ambivalence, particularly interested in this level of school?
Better for whom? Better for what?

You must already know that Colgate is a better university than Elon, more prestigious and rigorous.
So what attracts you to Elon?
Colgate is definitely considered the more rigorous school and more difficult to get into.
but let’s level it out a bit
Elon has a lot going for it as well. In comparison. Beautiful campus (Colgate also) beautiful weather (Colgate not close)
They both have smart students and lots of school spirit. Also great alumni network. Sometimes the kid with a few bs on the report card are equally brilliant but maybe a little less hell bent on things. Maybe the vibe is more laid back at Elon. That I don’t know. But it does describe the kids I know who have and are attending Elon
I have heard it said. Perhaps by a business exec at a school convocation I am pretty sure. “A” students become drs professors and researchers on many university campuses after they graduate. The “c”students come back to donate the money to build the buildings they work in.
Obviously a joke. But it takes all kinds to make the world go round
