There are posters who are real characters, and some who are plain weird; but weird characters? lemme see…

Is “combatitive” Latin for “combative”?

Talk about being contrarian, hah? ;)

It is a small world, too, as soon as I posted about Momof2inca (often misread as Momof2incas), I saw she had just posted! And I hadn’t seen her screenname in months.

momof2inca needs a pictogram. I can just see the feathers and poncho. Also needs music! , urr, chanting!

And where is Soozievt rattling away on her typewriter, wearing her red hammer and sickle t-shirt? - no offense, no offense, no offense! lol

And for heavens sake, WHERE IS NOODLEMAN?!

And all the Dad variations, Richdad, Poordad, Dadx, Xdad, Interestedad, Dadofsam…

And Marite has yet to tell us does she prefer Mareete or Maritae for pronounciation.

I love the screen names and the pictures they create in my mind. I’m a little embarrassed that I was soooo boring when I created mine. (I was really stressed out though, and could only come up with initials).

I too have the pictures of “red” soozie, the mother of incas, and will add to that:
BHG in her tennis outfit and racket at all times of day and night
LTS running to catch that big yellow school bus
Garland sitting at the keyboard with a garland of holly draped around the neck
chocoholic–goes without saying!
hereshoping (I always read as here shopping) with her overstuffed shopping bags
Alcook4u busy in the kitchen, looking like Martha Stewart
Mini–who was that character? Minnie Me?
jmmom–(no one else will share this picture) my grandfather’s name was J.M.–so sorry, have you pictured like the old tintype of his mom

I’m sure I’ve missed a few–but thank you–you all give me enjoyment in my empty nest time!

glad it is only jmmom triggering this lovely image. I apparently trigger images of a car, eh p2n? ;)

BTW, a few yrs back there was a lengthy discussion of the screennames, their pronunciations, and what we “thought” people looked like based on their screenname. Any talented folks (aka non-weird characters) able to find and retrieve links to those threads?

Car? I’m still stuck on ^^. :)

melbusefi…combatitive people are just really, really combative. ![]()
Guilty as charged…I guess that’s why the poster who uses the big words and long sentences loses me every time!!!

Couldnt agree more, astrophysics mom. Wait. Yes I could. I agree, I agree I AGREE!!! ( oh- and see my post to you in the SA thread)

Well, I’m still here…couldn’t type earlier, all this holly draped across the keyboard.

(actually, my great-grandma was named–I kid you not–May Garland, and that’s where the name comes from.)

When I see Garland I think of a local radio personality here in Philly for many years long ago. He was Ken Garland from Maine and was very folksy, just a riot on the airwaves!
Greybeard, Redbeard, Whitebeard…
And BBecker must be Boris Becker, the great tennis star. Just must be! There he/she sits in his tennis whites tapping away on the computer with a cold lemonade, just taking a break!

Actually the plain names are the best. When you get into trouble you can just slink away without notice. Except , what is it, cpt55 makes me think crap55. lol NO OFFENSE I KNOW this person is a very respectable person, maybe one of the brightest here. I just think their name is very funny!

And we all know about Digmedia.Coolcat!

And what is Kluge all about? A person of GREAT mystery.

So when D1 is off to school in the fall, and D2 becomes a hs jr starting the college “process”, do I have to change my screenname from astrophysicsmom to: Haven’t-got-the-slightest-idea-maybe-oceanography-or-dance-or-Spanish-or-education-or-linguistics-who-cares-I-just-want-to-go-to-NYC-MOM?

That will take a LONG time to type!

Ask and ye shall receive…:)

you’re so good, patsmom!!
Was the discussion about guessingwhat people looked like from their names in this thread too, or in a different one??

PS-- think it is time to resurrect the urban moundbuilders thread too, for old times sake???

Ellemnope is L-M-N-O-P and is married to Coureur and that person was a 5 day Jeopardy champ! And I couldn’t tell you when! And they have VERY bright kids! -just thought to add that tibit!

Patsmom—thanks for posting that link—I’m such a newbie compared to y’all. It did clear up some questions in the back of my mind! The Peruvian mom thing was WAY too funny.

just scanned back through that thread–very interesting–and of course I won’t remember all I learned and will continue pronouncing the names in my head the way I started originally.

Never would have gotten L-M-N-O-P!

“combatitive people are just really, really combative.”

Hmmm… Just the new superlative form of the multisyllable adjective?? OK.

Is this thread becoming slanderous?? I’m outta’ here!
