Youth and Government/ CONA

After seeing some disparaging comments on the high school thread about these activities, but not really getting any feedback, I was wondering if parents could weigh in.
Some of the high schoolers were suggesting that this ec was not highly regarded by colleges, and lumped MUN into this category, as well. Anyone’s kid involved with CONA? What were their experiences? And since this is CC, how is this e.c. viewed by competitive colleges  ?

Both my boys have done MUN and the younger one does YAG as well. From our statewide YAG, he was selected and attended CONA and had a great experience. You have to be selected to go to CONA, not just sign up and it includes kids from all over the country. Certainly, it seemed to be a positive thing. He now has a top state-wide YAG office. Again, seems like a good thing.

I don’t know how this stacks up against other ECs for the top colleges. If you are interested in these issues, it certainly can be a positive. Are you choosing between some different ECs?
