<p>CGM, my D who is at NYU has had several friends stay at hostels in the city through the years. They’ve tried several but the favorite is always the Big Apple Hostel which is on 45th. It is VERY popular, though, and tends to book up very quickly, especially in the summer months. Here’s their site:</p>

<p>My D spent 3 nights at the Chelsea Hostel <a href=“http://www.chelseahostel.com/aboutus.html[/url]”>http://www.chelseahostel.com/aboutus.html</a>
and liked it so much she went back again for another 2 nights. Well located and clean. She also said everyone was super friendly and nice. Only downside was no elevator (D was schlepping 2 suitcases). Her “roommate” was a woman in her late 30s.</p>
