<p>Does being in a Youth Leadership committee and do consistent service to the community for 3 years look good in college application ? Especially for Harvard/MIT/Stanford. I do have other credentials - like good GPA/SAT II scores/course rigor/competitions/varsity sports/school orchestra/leadership roles in school/summer activities. Please let me know. I am wondering if being in Youth Leadership will add any value. I enjoy doing it and will do it anyways. But is this something to brag about in your essays?</p>

<p>No one here knows what “youth leadership committee” is - is it highly competitive at a state-wide or national level to be accepted? Or is this a local or school-based honor? Obviously what you do as part of the committee matters too. Are you having any kind of impact and on who? </p>
<p>Being selected, like being elected class president - is, I assume, an honor, but then lots of others will have similar honors at the top schools so it won’t make you stand out particularly unless this is a state level or higher honor. In the end, what does it matter if you are enjoying it? As always, do what you like and do it well.</p>
