<p>Reaction? People who attend elite schools like rankings; those who do not, do not. People are selfish and insecure. We see what we want to see. That’s all there is to it.</p>
<p>I think the only good reason a ranking list should be used would be to scout out potential colleges. There were some colleges I never heard of, and never realized that they were “good” in a sense until I saw them on US News. Not to mention, it’s a great way of checking out “top” schools for specific majors.</p>
