Zoologists don't earn much?

i started wanting to become a zoologist a few years ago. however, i am a little concerned about the salary a zoologist can earn. i have read somewhere that with a bachelor’s degree, one can only earn less than three thousand a month? only with a doctorate’s degree can one earn an annual salary of 100,000. however, as we all know, earning a doctorate’s degree takes a lot of time and money, which i am sure i would not be able to pay when that time comes.

I know this sounds very superficial, and I know that the best thing to do is to follow my own passions and interests instead of focusing on the salary, but who doesn’t want to be able to earn big bucks in the future, instead of having to worry about one’s financial resources. So please guide me. i heard there are a few sub subjects in biology like genetics, microbiology etc.? Are they better choices? i’m also pretty interested in genetics.

Thank you for any advice!

If you’re making $60-70k you’re still making well more than the average American family.

as far as any information I know, zoologists and the like is very competitive and not high paying… knew of a guy who was ‘working’ as a xoologist, spent a remote summer with some grant to study bird droppings in alaska, all very poor boy stuff-limited supplies etc … very little pay.
