0-1 artist visa

Hi,

This is my first post to this forum. I’m an international student attending the Berklee College of Music, and I’m interested in getting an artist visa. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? Do you have to go through a lawyer? It seems so expensive…

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Nick

O-1 visas are known as “celebrity visas”. You are unlikely to qualify for one this early in your career. Here are the eligibility requirements, taken straight from the USCIS website:

[USCIS - O-1 Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement](http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=b9930b89284a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=b9930b89284a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD)

It is not true that you cannot obtain an artist visa at this stage.

The vast majority of O-1 visa applicants are recent college graduates looking to extend their time in the U.S working as artists.

Whether you are or are not approved for an artist visa is entirely up to you.

If you can show the USCIS that you are a vital part of the music scene in the U.S and/or your home country, you will definitely be approved.

Don’t give up!

www.ArtistVisaGuide.com

Are you ridiculous…Not anyone can get an “01-Visa” that is why it’s specific…

Every musician would like be considered for an Artists Visa but that doesn’t alone qualify you for being able to get one no matter how many tricks you pull.

There are numerous documents you must provide, records of proof, evidence, publications, awards and many recommendations from other recognized experts, organizations and agencies in the field and all criteria is verified.

It’s not “entirely up to you”…!

It’s not entirely up to you because an O-1 visa applicant must be petitioned by a U.S. company, or a U.S. agent. O-1 applicants may not self-petition.
