10 Days...10 Thoughts About Yale. (MY COOL IDEA!)

ooooh I wish I could do a capella :(

but I think I’ll stick to musicals - they’re a bit more forgiving when it comes to tight harmonies and such

Yeah did I mention I can’t act either? Though it’s okay, I still love drama and Yale. :)

areyouseriousss, I think you have to go through Spizzwinks(?) first (and yes their name is spelled with a question mark at the end) to get to the WHiffenpoofs, but I’ll be admiring you if you do get in to the Spizzwinks(?)! I totally love them! :D

Nope, not true. Any Junior guy can audition for the Whiffenpoofs. In fact, most of (I think all but 1) of the seniors in the Duke’s Men this year are Whiffs. Being in an all-male group like the Spizzwinks(?) does help because you learn about singing all-male a cappella, but I know a guy who was just in the Glee Club for 3 years and became a Whiff (he was a faculty advisor for my high school a cappella group).

Points: 50 to Princessbell for BHANGRA! YEA! :)

Yale LitMag

Robin Williams Appreciation Society (if it doesn’t exist, I will so start it!)

YSO (in my dreams)

If I don’t make YSO, hopefully a quartet / other performance ensemble

IM Tennis

Indian Students’ Association (includes dance stuff!)

I want to be a tour guide!

Scholastic Bowl

Are we still on extracurriculars? I’ll pretend we are, even if we aren’t.

Club Curling - If Yale doesn’t have curling, I’ll start it. Curling = fabulous. I feel so Canadian when I do it. Plus, who doesn’t love a sport where spandex, oversized sweatshirts 'n berets are standard uniform?

The Purple Crayon of Yale - How cool would it be tapped to be in this improv troupe. Plus, I look really good in purple.

Yale Ballroom Dance Club - Oh, how I’ve always wanted to learn how to do the foxtrot and wear those swooshy, sparkly mermaid dresses from Dancing With The Stars.

A cappella stalker… Okay, well, because I can’t actually sing, really, I will just be an a cappella groupie. Like, I will follow all the Whiffs around.

Theatre 'n stuff - Yeah, I’d love to act in something every now and then.

The Yale Herald - The Yale Daily News seems a little too intense for me, so I’ll stick with the Herald. I mean, anytime I get an article about Top Chef published in a legitimate periodical, I’m in.

Photography - Mmm, how I love spending quality time with my chemicals in the darkroom.

Skull and Bones - There’s something so alluring about a secret society. Especially one in which you’re not sure what will really happen to you if you’re tapped. Dangerous!

ooo! 50 to thisisfurious for the ballroom dance club! can i join too? (but that would make 9 :/)

hahaha eating food, I thought you played piano…do you sing, too?

sigh I wish I could play the piano. Not that I don’t like violin/viola…piano just seems more convenient

Back on topic: aww, I guess I made a pretty boring post, but no points at all for me? :)

haha limetime- i’ll admire the spizzwinks with you :stuck_out_tongue: +50
AND i’ll accompany you… heh.

but i don’t have points either.

hmm…let’s see. You want to join WORD of Mouth, which is pretty unique, so +30. And +20 for the possibility of joining volleyball because volleyball is just that awesome. :)

but I really do admire pianists. Can you play La Campanella? Cuz if you could, I would totally worship the ground you walked on >_>

But your post wasn’t true! Points for loving the Spizzwinks(?), though. A bunch of really cool dudes, as I take it. And not too shabby singers either (read, phenomenal). I’m looking through their 09 Tap Night album on their website right now, and I honestly can’t imagine something more awesome to participate in. Check it out: [The Yale Spizzwinks(?)](http://www.yale.edu/spizzwin/)

areyouseriouss, you need to denote an number of points for that to count!!

and guys, you have to give points to get points! Well, not really, but give points!

and in >15 minutes, it’s anyone’s game to pick the topic for lucky day #7 :)

wait, areyouseriousss, are you serious? (ahaha… no i wasn’t acutally going to ask you that, just kind of wanted to say it).

but are you saying that my post wasn’t true? i’m confused…

and i played la campanella two years ago, but i didn’ record it  but yeah lol.

aww man, admissions owned me.

oh well, Board Leader byah!

Oh my gosh.

pianista, I AM going to worship the ground you walk on. La campanella is one of my fave piano songs (the version by Li Yundi is the best  ) and i know that it is a devilishly hard technical piece to play. Kudos to you!

5 minutes and a new topic!

30 points to Alizard for SCHOOL PRIDE. YAYAY, Cut me and I bleed white and green (and I’m not some disgusting lizard. xD)

arggg i’m wishing I weren’t so generous lol.

oh, new rule. automatic 20 points to the creator of each days topic.

fight to the finish!! lol

haha Li Yundi is awesome, totally better than Lang Lang, who I personally think is somewhat overrated.

have you heard Li Yundi’s rendition of Liszt’s transcription of Verdi’s Rigoletto?
one of my favorite recordings of all time. heh. music geek.

<2 minutes!

No I was saying limetime’s post wasn’t true. At least the part about having to be a Wink before a Whiff wasn’t. 20 points for enthusiasm though!
