10 Days...10 Thoughts About Yale. (MY COOL IDEA!)

Lol, constructive interference much? xD

arr physics arr

lol

Awesome! I’m Blue-Booking and shopping for courses before I even get (hopefully) to Yale!

DS. DS. DS. Yes, that does count as one course  and Yes, I am ready to be directed towards my suicide. I sat in on a philosophy course and it was so vibrant and amazing. You really get the sense that youre around the 120 freshman who are the loudest and most passionate and thoughtful.

Daily Themes. I love writing, but I suck at keeping journals. Maybe being in this class will help be become a better writer! I just hope I get in- it’s by application only.

Rainforest Expedition and Lab. Do a little molecular work, then go to a rainforest for spring break!! Enough said.

Women’s Health: Global Issues. I don’t know, women in general and their welfare and equality is just a big deal to me, and I’d like to learn more about it in a place other than Glamour’s Women around the World :)

Journalism: It’s a requirement to be a Journalism Scholar, and I’d like to see Yale’s take on it. Plus, journalism is so awesome, and I love being around other writers. We’re such a dramatic bunch.

Topics in Feminist Philosophy: I’m a feminist, and I think you get to watch porn. Sold.

Introductory Photography: An excuse to buy a film camera (or 2…or 3 :)) and learn how to develop film in a darkroom so I can make use of the darkrooms in the residential colleges!!!

thanks to whoever…I can’t remember…came up with this topic!!! i had so much fun!

Daily Themes :high five: +25 :)

I need the points…

Day 6
Complement your fellow CC SCEAers! About their stats, views on Yale, posts, personalities, why Yale should accept them, anything!

princessbell, I have to say that you are awesome. Everyone is getting stressed with SCEA coming out soon, but you help keep everything under the cool…at least you seem to help me…

I hope to meet everyone here one day…really

Shoutout to BlueDucky! Love of my life, Who graces us with her August presence, who’s feet veritably shine with unsullied light, whose face outshines that of the sun, the moon, and that girl who sits in front of me in AP English classes earring (trust me, it’s shiny) (Just kidding xDDDDDD, had you there for a second. =])
2) Whoo hoo, RCFanatic. Perfect Boy! Scores and ECs so far above the roof that he has colleges apply to him and a cult (hey, I want a cult too. ;_:wink:
3) DavidBonkoo! Wassup California Buddies to the end. You can take the me out of the sunshine, but you can never take the sunshine out of me. yay! Also, has the best paranoia posts ever. Like. Best. EVER.
4) Limetime! Weighted GPA through the roof? Spanish honors society when not spanish? hardcore partier? AWESOME! Has brother in MIT? Even better, make him do your calculus homework! Can you switch your usename to TimeLime? It’s only 2 letter switch anyways.
5) Alizarda! I do the same thing with my usernames. Except I put an “e” after and before the word. and she laughs at all my jokes. That should be like auto-in for Yale.
6) PrincessBell! Make it in on the virtue of making awesome threads. =]

1) eating food- My twin, my encourager, my friend. I’m glad that you always support me during AA arguments, and always bump my threads. I hope we’re friends in real life AT YALE, and I really hope Yale sees that they need both of us- like you said, it takes two to make a legacy of Yalies!
2)OneKingOneLife- You always have interesting or funny posts to contribute to this forum. I couldn’t believe that you’ve only made 200ish posts- I feel like you post something intriguing nearly every hour! You seem like you’d make a cool classmate- like pretty much everyone else- and I also hope to meet you! The fertile crecent thing always confuses me- I’ve been flipping back and forth between whether you’re from Mesopotamia or Iowa.
3)IronMetal-Another Marylander, another person who always has something interesting to say. I still can’t figure out if you want to apply to Yale or not, or if you were just coerced into sending in the Common App lol. One part of me thinks you shouldn’t have applied SCEA, and other part thinks- yayyy another Marylander for Yale 2013!
4) collegehopefull- Okay, no offense, but you kind of irritate me. Your posts are sometimes snide and irrelevant, and the whole AA argument didn’t really help. But you do provide another dimension to the SCEA applicants- I can’t go around completely loving every single CCer applying early. I’m not mean enough to say that I wish you wouldn’t get in- I’d never go there- in fact, I actually hope we have a class together so we can duke it out in real life.
5) davidbonkoo- Your username is really funny, and it gives me the impression that you’re African even though I know you’re not. Your posts are always filled with exclamation points and funny situations. I loved your SAT story. Keep being hilarious!
6) milessmiles- IDK what it is, you’re just cool :)

OOHHH!! Fun! +20 to princessbell for finding something nice to say about someone she obviously doesn’t like (her #4). +20 again to her for putting down Journalism!! THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY NUMBER 1!!!

 1. princessbell-I agree with the thread-creation awesomeness everyone else said. If we don’t make it in here, I hope we’ll go to WashU together (haha, half joking–I know you had issues with it).
 2. hellosail/southeastitan–Although you don’t post on this thread and probably won’t ever read it, I have to say that the JSF/NK discussion on the other thread was so insightful. It made me think: “If Yale’s applicant pool is this wondrous, what will it be like to actually go?”
 3. The Werg- I don’t understand your username. But I do understand your fin aid woes, which made me feel less alone about my own. Good luck!
 4. eating food- Yes, you are cocky. But the fact that I still think I’d like you if I met you probably tells it all, making any further explanation unnecessary.
 5. davidbonkoo- Your posts are always knee-slappers. I shall read them before D-Day.
 6. pianista-- You remind me of one of my good friends. Nuff said.

omg this is hilarious/genius!

1) XYZ Affair – Ahoy, my sort of long-lost fraternal twin found on CC! it’s so cool that we both come from math/science oriented families but love history and philosophy. woot woot! I HOPE to see ya there! :)

2) OneKingOneLife – I think I’ve laughed at almost every single post you made on CC from the moment I realized your existence :D. You have a very dark, ironic, and even a little macabre sense of humor, and I absolutely LOVE it! We think on the same lines…except that you are a lot more creative than I am. Keep it up – you’re the comic relief (at least to me) on CC.

3) Pianista – Yay for us instrumental-music people! Besides the fact that I have totally decided to worship the ground you walk on for the fact that you can play La Campanella, you are really nice to everyone on the forum, and generally always have something positive to say. :)

4) Princessbell – Woot woot another DC metropolitan area applicant! We gotta represent! Your enthusiasm is infectious and KUDOS for creating this amazing thread!

5) NJBKitty – Shoutout to NJB for being one of the funniest superstitious people ever! (in a good way, trust me.) It’s really nice to have someone to obsess with on CC. you show the very human side of all of us, and put all our anxieties into exact words!

6) whsdrummer99 – even though you don’t have that many posts, your posts are generally very productive and very content-based. Also, you are unfailingly polite. I respect that. :)

In no particular order…

1) limetime - a… a shoutout??? For… for little ole’ meeee??? :D

2) mistofthekane - for being a genius by pledging to go read depressing stories about malnutrition and poverty in third-world countries to make rejection/deferral not feel so bad xD

3) Princessbell - workin’ hard to keep the forums fun? I commend thee ;)

4) OneKingOneLife - Three words. El Oh El.

5) davidbonkoo - haha thanks for cheering me up when I sounded more depressed when I actually was. :stuck_out_tongue: I have yet to even start those other essays, by the way :/

6) asiantofu - just for having an awesome name :] haha

1) princessbell - for making this thread and being really positive while the rest of us are going crazy. ALSO i checked out the rainforest course and it sounds AWESOME i didn’t even see it before haha.

2) OneKingOneLife - For linking Obama and Yale. Yes We Can! =D
also because you put me and i’m a sucker for flattery? =/

3) limetime - because we’re gonna take that Fascism course together…sounds really interesting!

4) eating food - because you’re funny. also you have the best username imo :)

5) whsdrummer99 - because you run xc, which is the most amazing sport everrrr. and you’re a drummer! (well i assume from your name lol.) oh, i’m not a drummer. but i like drummers :)

6) areyouserioussss - for the bloodthirsty shark idea. ouch. haha

1) Princessbell: You know I loveya gurrrl. You are so incredibly smart, yet you’re so humble! You can debate with the best of them, yet you’re totally comfortable laughing at yourself. You’re so talented and you’ve truly made the Yale board one of the warmest places on CC. You are the first member of the “holy trinity.”

2) Limetime: You’re from MARYLAND (thus you round out the “holy trinity”!!). You know, 33 kids got in SCEA last year from Maryland and I THINK THIS COULD BE US ON MONDAY!!! Here’s to hoping, and possibly meeting up in DC over winter break if all goes well. Keep on keepin’ on.

3) TheWerg: You’ve been an excellent procrastination buddy these past few weeks. You were one of the first people to join the Y>HPSM facebook group and for that I love you. You’re a genius and from what I’ve seen, you’re a great friend… hopefully we’ll get to know each other a bit better come next fall!

4) star_s: I’m love the legacy vibes I feel floating between us. Because of said “vibes,” I’ve felt it most appropriate to mention you. Good luck on Monday!!!

5) s1mpl3x: I realize that you, being the resident n00b and all, will probably get very few references, so I’ve decided to mention you. I like your enthusiasm! I only wish you were here to share it sooner. I like that we are from the same state (holy quartet, maybe?!), that our birthdays are but a day apart, and that we share a mutual friend. Here’s to you, and welcome to CC!

6) sunshineyday:

this made me lul… so I’ve reserved the last, and most coveted, spot for you. Perhaps we shall meet in person my sweet!

BUT WAIT! HE’S NOT DONE!

7) milessmiles: I like our PM relationship. It makes me ever so anxious to meet you (hopefully) next year. Your sleuthing skills are unrivaled and I got mad respect for you (bull)dawg.

8) I would like to give a shout out to everyone on this thread:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/573939-2013-single-choice-early-action-applicants-thread.html</a>
YOU GUYS ARE FREAKING INCREDIBLE. THESE STATS ARE RIDICULOUS and you will all get in somewhere amazing even if it’s not Yale! Wow, just looking through that thread gives me chills.

Wow. This last topic was great. I’ve been genuinely moved reading these.

I VOTE WE EXTEND TIME FOR TODAY’S TOPIC! I’m going to recruit more people to sign… because this one is important.

hehe, if you beat me out in time based on CC time.

12:00 sharp remember?

in no particular order:

rachelchen16: Well, it helps that I actually know you in real life, and that you were one of the people who taught me how to play pool. On CC, you’re really - i want to say level-headed, but that’s not the right term- and are always up to blow off steam.

eating food: So when I used to go to CTY and whatnot, there was this girl in my hall one year who was almost three years older than I, and as a nevermore, she played the role of “mommy” in our hall. She would make me eat my veggies (okay, that she pretended to do), but she was always there for boy troubles or any troubles and I still love her to death. You’re basically the “daddy” of the CC Yale forum :)

princessbell: You’re the CC Yale forum “mommy” :)

rcfanatic: Mad respect yo!

limetime and sunshineyday: I’m against political “favors”, but this aint one (okay, well it kinda is. but i reserved it to only one spot… can you guys share? :)) . I’ve seen both of you post throughout the forum and you guys are awesome. Plus I like reminding people of their friends, then they like… idk. psychologically associate good traits to me. :)

bulldoghopeful: One of the other people I know personally on CC. Okay, well kind of personally. I’m sorry for b!tching at you earlier on aim. Please understand where I was coming from. You’re still awesome and I know I can complain about random college stuff to you that I can’t complain to anyone else about.

Countdown: 10 minutes!

[edit: If you can’t tell, I like smiley faces :)]

+20 to eating food for using the word “holy trinity” on this board! That was epic! :D

Yup yup. I really hope that we three can meet up over the holidays over good news. That would be even more epic. XD

Topic: Your Loves in Life (EC, Other Sex, Yale, etc.)

heheheh I still want people to post about the other thing. But I’m game for this topic too! (who cares about Dickens/Differential Equations anyway!?)

1) Old Films (sunset boulevard, jezebel, some like it hot)… anything with Meryl (streep)

2) Britney… (heheh I skipped school to go to her bday party at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square… I was also one of the first with a physical copy of her CD)

3) Classical Music (brahms, beethoven, mozart, chopin = MY LIFE)

4) Drama (Acting in plays/musicals and watchin people do their thang in them)

5) Yale and all that comes with it (ie. all of YOU!)
