12-12-12 concert

Anyone watching? It’s great and funny and bringing back so many memories and emotions.

Yep. We just commented the same thing. Great concert as well as Billy Crystal, Adam Sandler and Jon Stewart.

I posted a thread downstream; kinda disappeared. Good show, mostly. Some of the acts have aged a bit for me, but shots of my state are very poignant to me (and Bruce rocked!)

enjoying listening, not watching as much. It’s great!

Some of the acts have aged, but then again, so have we. Eric Clapton sounded great. H&I are enjoying the show. We’re surprised at all the bald and graying heads in the crowd. Oh wait, they’re just like us! I’m Jersey born and bred.

Clapton was good. Roger Waters bored me half to death. His set seemed so non-connected to anything that was going on. Sounded like music preserved in amber.

I thought Eric Clapton was great. And yes, some voices are strained. But h*ll, after years of booze, drugs, etc. , it is amazing they are still singing at all!

I was actually talking about the music, not the voices. Just sounded so dated.

Mick actually sounds pretty good!

I love watching Mick Jagger on stage. He’s having so much fun and that makes me smile.

Mick was amazing for being 69 yo. So much energy.

It is hard to believe that he will be a 70 yr old man in a few months! A 70 yr old man strutting his stuff like that? Wow! Remember when 70 was ancient?

The rolling stones looked terrible. I know a lot of 70 year olds who are energetic and look a lot better than those dudes. I guess Nirvana with Paul McCartney hasn’t played yet - Cobain must be rolling over in his grave.

We’re enjoying it also. H commented about the gray hairs in the audience, then amended his comment with ‘well they can afford the tickets.’ But I have the hardest time seeing all these folks age…we’re all aging but gosh…

Sorry Alicia did not sing New York. But I guess it is JayZ’s song. But it is hard to imagine this song not being sung in this concert.

One of my friends is there, she just posted a pic of all the cell phone candles.
Says its amazing.

Really enjoyed Bruce opening the show and BonJovi going in for ‘Born to Run’. BonJovi then killed his set and invited Bruce back in.

Bruce’s comments on the Jersey Shore are dead on…it’s where the working class from North NJ aspire to retire. I know several people in their mid/late 50s who bought a small place that they planned to retire to in a few years and were wiped out. Given it’s not their current primary home, there’s no FEMA aid.

Monmouth County NJ rockers showing the world how it’s done!

The Who kicking butt

Totally agree, NJmom–and I loved when Brian Williams mentioned he and Miami Steve were Middletown guys–my home town!

Gotta love those rock operas. I “made” my kids listen to them on a cross country trip years ago!

He’s gonna wake up tomorrow and wonder why his shoulder is sore and go “oh yeah, it was all those windmills.”

Turning into a Who concert…6 songs?
