Hello,
I am a rising senior that wants to apply to pretty selective schools, (i.e. uc berkeley, stanford, san diego, cornell) I want to bring up my SAT as much as possible by November. I start school by early next month so not much of summer will play to my advantage as I’ve not really done much with it. When the school year hits I’ll be very busy with classes and Extra-curriculars. I’ve been using Khan Academy and just ordered a Barron’s book. Is it achievable?
Take a practice test weekly, go over mistakes, 10hrs a week study if not more.
Good luck!!
The [Xiggi method](http://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/360031/file-2191783928-pdf/Documents/Xiggi_Advice.pdf?t=1500574265816) is a common way for a lot of people to tackle the SAT and receive very high jumps in their scores. It’s a tiny bit of a long read, but I highly recommend looking through the entire document. You’d probably have to spend a lot of time dedicated to this to method, though, since the Xiggi method is based on taking full length practice tests repeatedly. One thing I would recommend in difference from Xiggi is that you only have a few books as opposed to getting as many as you can, as he recommends. Instead, continue with Barron’s and get the official SAT guide from College Board itself and use those two, along with official practice tests. Buying a lot of books would spread yourself too thin, especially since you plan on taking the test in only a couple months.
Additionally, I would rely completely on Khan and College Board for prep. They do a good job of prepping you for the SAT, but they will omit specific strategies and holes in the test that would otherwise help you. Make sure for strategy you pay attention to Barron’s and maybe some other online resources. Good luck
