I’m going to take the following exams next year and it’s really a lot! So I need a backup plan.

What do you think I should take for self-study?

Thanks!

Your going to take 9 classes? Is that even possible? Usually schools only have 5-6 classes.

Anyways, it looks like you got it covered good. All of the self-study courses are easy to self-study since its all book knowledge. You could probably also self-study the micro and macro, once again its all book knowledge. All of those sciences will have lots of math so it’ll be good to take the classes to get some practice, then again you could also study on your own. Then again, if you ask me ANY of the ap exams can be self-studied.

The basic idea is this:
learn whats on the exam (ie. what topics you need to learn)
learn those topics (ie. read a textbook)
review those topics (ie. get a review book or online review)
practice, practice, practice (ie. do simulation exams and write essays)
figure out your weakness and review the topics you are weak in, rinse and repeat.

If you do that you’ll get a 5, guaranteed.

Since you are going to take lots of ap exams, you need to start NOW.

Those AP’s would be impossible for most. Self-studying Art History, Biology, US History, and World all in one year? Those require so much memorization that I couldn’t see how you could do it along with all of your hard classes and other self-studies. Wow, classes for AP Chemistry, Physics B, and both Physics C’s in one year? You might want to rethink this.

I hate to tell you this, man, but it’s probably not possible (assuming you want 5’s). Art History is a total killer, and I had the class. Physics B and Physics C both require enormous time investments, and studying Physics C hard will not necessarily cover Physics B. Bio is also a huge time investment.

If you cut Art History, both Physics C’s, and Bio, I’d call it manageable if you have very few other commitments. 13 APs in a year is still nothing to sneer at.

I agree. I think for self study you should take:
Chinese, Environmental, USH, and psych if you really want to. Human geography credit is worth absolutely nothing. NADA. Like 3 colleges world wide accept it. So don’t even bother
I think you’re doing too many AP’s dude… are you a junior? Because that will kill you, esp in these stressful times. Cut both Physics C’s (Physics B is much easier/managable). Chem is fine. And then you should be fine.

You are taking AP Physics B when you have Physics C?

Why would you waste that much time of your life studying for and taking all of those classes? You might get more college credits, but it’s not worth it at all.

Is there a point of this thread other than to rub in the fact that you’ll be taking 17 AP exams in one year? I don’t see what you mean when you say you need a “backup plan”. You seem pretty set on taking those exams, and I can’t really think of a “backup plan” to taking 17…don’t take so many? If you can even pass all 17, I will be impressed, nevermind if you can get a 5 on the majority of them.

For the record, take what you think you know about each course and divide it in half. You don’t know 80% of AP Bio, but probably 40%. This is due to memory decay, overconfidence, and a lack of depth in the honors bio classes you took in 9th and 10th grade.

I don’t know about his school, but mine is based on a block schedule (4 or 5 classes one semester and 4 classes the next semester). So I can take Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 but Spanish 4 will be second semester.

Either you are really stupid or you are crazy

What the hell do you plan to do with taking 17 AP Exams?

What is your objective?

Are you trying to get into an elite school?

Or are you trying to earn as many college credits as possible and reduce your costs at a state school?

With your schedule, I don’t think you should feel the need to self study any AP exams. Maybe Chinese, but really, why do you want to put that much stress on yourself? You already have more than enough AP’s in your class schedule.

As a mother, I urge you to please take some time to be a kid.

Your plan should be getting a life. Seriously.

I have a kid who took 11 APs AND full diploma IB (6 exams) and I can tell you it’s no picnic – and he spread them out starting freshman year.

Focus on quality, not quantity.

Guys, watch when he gets all 3s on those exams. It’s going to be funny.

You need to cut back on AP exams. You can’t reasonably take that many.

Sorry, but that’s ridiculous. What grade are you in? A good “backup plan” would be to spread them out for two or three years… Also, unless your school pays for the exams, that’s going to be a TON of money. Good luck with that.

I’m going to call it, this is a load of *****. Physics C requires calculus, but you haven’t even taken calculus yet, your taking it now, so you can’t do them both at the same time it will * you up.

LOL guys this is a joke topic.

Umm guys, I’m pretty sure this thread is either a joke or ■■■■■ topic. 17 AP Tests in 1 year? Seriously?
