2010 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

hello,
i’m waiting for rockefeller… can i know when did u apply for that school i applied just on the deadline and i’m very nervous ( it’s my dream school) i was wondering if they already rejected me !!!

Is anyone going to be at the UCLA ACCESS interview this weekend (Feb 6th-8th)? I’m excited and nervous!

Also, has anyone heard any news (good or bad) from the MCDB&G/BMBB program at the U. of MN, Twin Cities? Is anyone besides Cytometry and myself applying to that program?

I called IGP-Northwestern today and the lady said that they have not started reviewing int’l applicants yet. I think int’l applicants have been contacted by the program (someone posted this in the thread), so she’s probably talking about overseas applicants.

It’s been a while since I updated:

international student.
Interviews: GSK, AECOM, Mt. Sinai, Pitt, UPenn, Tufts Sackler
Accepted: Rockefeller (holla GCN2!)
Rejected: GSK :frowning:
LOTS of interviews coming up! Woo! Good luck to everyone!

[FemaleScienceProfessor: Grad Interviews](FemaleScienceProfessor: Grad Interviews)

For those of you heading to P-ton this weekend, I hope the snowstorm doesn’t interfere.
(I’m a concerned mom.)

i’m in baltimore for johns hopkins interviews…we’re gonna get 16-24" Friday through Saturday.

their schedule of events is so screwed.

bernsted:
I applied to BMBB program at the UMN. I heard nothing from them yet… I just got an email saying application was complete and sent to the program on Jan 5th…

I just got a phone call with acceptance from Einstein! woohoo!! I was at the Jan 25 interview day.

Also received interview invites today from University of Pittsburgh IBGP Cell and Molecular and SUNY Albany Biomedical Sciences.

I’m still waiting for UChicago biomedical sciences and UNC Chapel Hill - is anyone still waiting to hear back from them?
I contacted UChicago, and they told me that I’m not rejected, and I have to wait - for those of you who might be wondering :)

Someone posted a few pages back that MSSM’s acceptance rate for interviewees was 25%. I have confirmed that it is more like 50%.

just saw your email. regarding UPenn. Did you already have your interview weekend or is it this weekend? Just wondering when they give out their acceptances

Did you have your interview at Penn yet? Just wondering when they give out their acceptances?

I can also confirm this is correct. At the info session at my interview day, they said they would interview ~110-120 candidates and accept ~50-55. So just under 50%.

I have also applied to Albany for Biomedical Sciences Did they contact you by email/phone for the interview? SUNY Albany, through Albany Medical School same as you applied?

@Immunonerd and aldo003b

I’m sorry i believe that someone was me!! i was mistaken, at the information session they gave us the same numbers however i took the matriculation rate as the acceptance rate which obviously is incorrect. sorry about that, you are right they do accept about 50ish and out of which around 30 matriculate.
One thing though, they are pretty great at letting you know just a few days after your interview about the outcome which is great.

So assuming I get into one of my schools I’ll be in California for the next 5-6 years! Couldn’t be happier. This is what I’m assuming is my final rundown
Interviews - UCLA (just got the email! 3/6-8), UC Berkeley (this weekend), UC Davis (2/23-24)
Rejections - WashU, Stanford
Assumed rejections - Columbia, NYU, MIT

@momwaitingfornew

“If only a small number of applicants are invited to interview, you can pretty much count on close to 100% post-interview acceptance.”

If this is true, I am STOKED. I am one of only 6 invited for a recruitment weekend at a Neuroscience program.

Just got an invite to Tufts Sackler ISP – apparently there was a lot of confusion with the invitation list and mine slipped through on the first try, but I’m very happy to have received one regardless.
Anyone here interview at the Sackler school? How was it?

cong txsoccer!
The department told me last week that invitations will be sent in two weeks, hopefully I can hear something by next week then.
