thanks! If I remember correctly you’re immuno? If that’s the case then they must be doing it by department - good luck! i’ll let you know how interviews are.

Yes I’m in immuno. I just had interview at Umass and the program is awesome!

Hello all. I’m new. Just wondering if someone could give me an update (sorry if repeated already elsewhere) on some of the schools. I haven’t heard from Princeton (MolBio), Penn (BGS), UCSF (PSPG), UCSD (BMS). It seems most have already started interviews and may have already finished, but I was wondering what the format is for the rejections: snail mail or e-mail? Princeton and Penn both had fairly early deadlines so I’m assuming if I haven’t heard by now it is a bad sign!

By the way, I was supposed to interview on Monday for another university, but it seems this snowstorm may push me to cancel my plans! My plan was to travel there this weekend, but now I don’t know what to do. I have the school on standby right now so I can give them an update on the weather! The other interview date does not work because I have another school scheduled. Do you think its bad to skip this? I can’t help it if it’s a natural disaster!

PhD2010,
I don’t where you are flying from. My S also suppose to fly from east coast to CA today. This is a natural disaster, but I’m sure the school would want to meet you, and you too would need to meet and see the profs and grad students. Does your interview start Sun evening?

There is a dinner and a meet and greet with a few grad students starting Sunday. My plan was to travel there by ground transportation either today or tomorrow and then fly back on Monday night. I already booked the flight, but right now I’m not sure I can get there by ground transportation.

If you can trust anonymous submissions on GradCafe, then apparently Princeton Molecular Biology just sent another interview invitation today.

Does anyone know anything about University of Texas Health Science Center/MD Anderson?? Have they started interviewing??

PhD,
My son is in route now. I think with snowstorm and delays, will take him 13 or more hours. I hope you find a way to get there, so you can see how you like the program.

@TP53geek:
I know a guy from my country who already received admission from MD Anderson/UT.

invited by Northwestern IGP! Surprise! It’s weekend:)

sorry, I mean interview invitation for IGP. at feb.25-28

does anyone know when UNC BBSP lets you know the outcome post-interview?

I heard from UNC in a week, but I know of someone who heard in 2 days and someone who still hasn’t heard yet. Moral of the story: it seems to vary, but I think at the latest it should be is 2 weeks (after they have finished all of the interview weekends)

phDhopeful,
I’m bummed GSK said no for you. But congrats on Rockefeller! Maybe we’ll our labs will be next door neighbors? haha

–
I think someone else asked about Rockefeller a few pages back. I applied in early November, with my file being complete (LORs) before December. I heard on February 2nd, far after the first wave of people did. I know some people have heard back after this as well, so keep your eyes open for a FedEx package.

U Penn CAMB was pretty incredible. Certainly makes my decision more difficult. Who will I be seeing at Weill Cornell? I know five or so of us from UPenn will be there on the 17th. Anyone else?

Good luck fighting the snow if your traveling on the east this weekend!

I’ll be at Weill Cornell Feb 17-19th. I wonder how many people they are interviewing, I feel like it is a huge amount of people!! Anyone from the board should say hi to the short white girl from Toronto. Seriously, it is fun seeing the face behind the posts.

And I’ll be in Chicago this Thurs-Sunday for Neurobiology Cluster.

I’m in love with Princeton. It is amazing. I was worried that at NYU maybe I had like cold-feet and was worried about leaving my life here, and starting grad school, and that it wasn’t about the program. But now I know, man, I found the perfect program for me. I will be sooooo sad if they say no. I’ll probably ask them to reconsider their decision if they say no, quite seriously. I just loved it.

Anyone know what the post-interview acceptance rates are like for Stony Brook life sciences programs?

Does anyone know the acceptance rates for NYU GSAS Biology post-interview? Did people interviewing this weekend have any trouble with the snow? I got over 3 feet in DC, I’m glad I chose to interview at NYU next weekend. Will anyone else be joining me?

thanks! i thought UNC was awesome!!

I’ll be at cornell weill on the 17th as well so see you guys there!

I’ll be at Weill Cornell Feb 17th as well. I’m looking forward to it!

I got accepted to Northwestern IGP via email on Feb 4th! I am an international applicant by the way. I went for an interview there last weekend.
