2011 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

I interviewed over a month michigan PIBs, and I still haven’t heard anything. I think that this probably means that I am waitlisted. If anyone got accepted and isn’t planning on going can you please let them know? This is my dream school, and it is agony waiting…

Thanks

@sha4us,

what sub-program did you interview for at michigan PIBS? I interviewed for their Cancer Biology as my primary department, and was offered admissions the monday following interview weekend. It is also one of my top choices right now, but I’m having a hard time deciding between this and another school. However, I should have a decision made by the end of this week, hopefully. Best of luck to you.

I interviewed for the genetics sub-program.

Accepted into Weill Cornell’s PBSB department. Very excited! Waiting on Columbia still, but happy to know I will likely be in the city next year.

Berkeley MCB acceptance via email on March 4th. I was there during the FIRST weekend- so apparently there’s still hope for those who did not hear back right away.

I’m done!!! :)

Applied: NYU Sackler, GSK, Rockefeller, UConn, UMass Med, Tufts, URI, SUNY Buffalo (RPCI), Scripps, UC Irvine, UC San Diego

Rejections: NYU Sackler, GSK, Rockefeller, UMass Med, Scripps (unofficial), UC San Diego

Interviews: UConn, Tufts, URI (declined), SUNY Buffalo, UC Irvine

Acceptances: All the interviews (presidential fellowship awarded for SUNY Buffalo)

Accepting: UC Irvine

Hope everyone finds a school that fits!

UConn just sent out acceptances, i was selected for the Biomedical Scholar Track, does anyone know what that is?

Anyone hear accepted/rejected from Weill Immunology?!?!? Its my top choice and Im so on edge waiting!

Anyone hear from UC Davis Genetics?

Still waiting to hear from Columbia physiology and biophysics. The interview was about 3 and a half weeks ago and haven’t heard back yet.

I feel like if a school is going to waitlist you they would tell you - what do you guys think? To me, if you are waitlisted you might not know if you’ll be able to get in until after the April 15th deadline - and if you’re unaware of being waitlisted then you’ll go ahead and take another offer from a school that has admitted you. So I don’t see why they wouldn’t tell us if we’re waitlisted or not. Yes/no?

Sweet! Just got an email from Berkeley MCB!

Same here! I interviewed this past weekend.

Admitted into Berkeley MCB program!
Intl student here.

Hey guys,

Does anyone on the waitlist for UCSD BMS know what’s going on these days? Have they had their last interview weekend? If so, does that mean sure rejection? I wish they would tell us something. Thanks for any info you guys may have.

@tnnsplyr88 I’m not sure about any waitlist, but I know that UCSD BMS had their second (and last, unfortunately) interview weekend. I would assume that they will accept off of the interviews since they were pretty clear that they don’t do alternative weekends and invited ~90 for an ideal class size of 35. I’m sorry to be the bearer of not so great news, but it’s probably better to know than be in limbo…

I just got an offer from Boston U micro - What a relief. I only applied to 4 schools, and I thought I had shot myself in the foot.

Stanford acceptance!!! Woohoo!!!

@Flutopian To which program?

Gratz Flutopian! Are you going? What’d you think of the weekend?

I got a call from Stanford around this time yesterday and got an acceptance for the Dev Bio program. So excited! Still debating between Stanford and Duke though so we’ll see. Working on finishing up finals this week before I figure it all out.

@MicroAndCellSci Micro and Immuno program. No idea as yet where I will go, but Stanford’s definitely in my top two.
