Okay, well now that I am super paranoid after reading all these posts. I need to post something myself.

Has anyone heard back from Brown Pathobiology or Stanford Microbiology and Immunology programs? I know a few people have, but I was wondering if they are still sending out notifications.

@kurtis88 i dont know about pathobiology, but I got an interview with brown pharmacology and it is this weekend… not sure if that will help or freak you out more

Has anybody heard from Stanford Bioscience’s Genetics program either for an interview invite or rejection? There was one rogue interview invite Jan 7th on gradcafe but besides that silence.

Calling the Biosciences admissions just gives a recording saying that materials are due Dec 1st 2009… so yeah that’s a dead end.

I’m doing the same thing! I’ve gotten invites from UWash and WashStL, but still waiting to hear anything about Stanford Genetics and NYU Developmental Genetics…

Last I heard from both was that I was still under review (transcript error had to be fixed, so asked if they could check my status, hehe) and that they’d start releasing information in the next two weeks, but haven’t heard ANYTHING related towards Genetics programs for either school outside of that one gradcafe post (which I have to say I think is someone just being mean about it).

Hope you hear from them soon, hopefully at least one of us will hear from them soon ;-)

someone on Grad Cafe just said this about Emory GDBBS:
“Poster below, traditionally BBS would have sent out interview invites last week, but Atlanta was shut down for almost a week due to snow. Will likely see first round this week or next week”

I dont know how accurate that is, I thought I saw people saying they got invites already. At least to MMG and GMB which are the departments I applied to. Esp. since GMB says they only hold one recruitment weekend Feb. 10-12, I know about MMG they don’t list their dates on the website. Does any one know more about this? Also has anyone ever gotten an invite from their second choice at Emory?

Congratulations! There was one post on gradcafe about getting an interview on Jan. 12 in pathobiology. Does that mean I’m pretty much screwed with Brown?

Any word from Stanford microbiology and immunology? I know there was one post about an interview notice early January.

I’ll be at JHU BCMB this weekend too. We’re supposed to be finding out who we’re interviewing with maybe tomorrow but more than likely Wednesday. See ya there!

I can’t be sure, but I received a call and an official packet in the mail. The packet was sent to all biosciences interviewees. So, I assume that unless a significant amount of people decline the interview, no more will be sent.

Yeah, I feel the same about Harvard. I was so worried, and its too late now. But, hopefully I get Stanford. And, thank you. Cornell is a great school =)

I’m still waiting (and losing hope for) Columbia integrated as well! I’m not sure what to think. I keep telling myself that since I got an interview or two from schools of higher or equivalent ranking that maybe there is still a chance but I know that is a silly way to think about it. The process can be so confusing!

I’m also waiting for a response from Columbia’s Nutrition and Metabolic Biology program (but the Integrated program is my second choice). I emailed them and asked if I can assume to be rejected if I did not hear by now, but they replied that it does not mean I’m rejected. I do not know if they are still reviewing applications… I did not see many posts about Columbia on this forum. maybe there’s still hope.
