@turkeylurkey
thank you. good point. Perhaps closer to the interview dates, the details will arrive or at least details indicating we do not need to know the PIs’ work specifically.

@turkeylurkey

MAssive congrats on UCSD!
Just curious, when were you interviewed, I thought there’s still some interviews today going on? Also, did you get a call from PI or the adcom?
Cheers!

@canbio: yar, I think it’ll be fine. Just shoot an email a few days before the interview if you still haven’t heard anything and see what’s up.

@whalo29: thanks! I was at the interview weekend last week (wed-fri), so I was pretty surprised that they’re already informing people. I got a call from I think it was the director of grad student affairs or some such. I guess they must have acceptance slots for each interview weekend.

@belleoftheball: congrats! is that your first choice?

Hey Guys,
New to the thread but I just received an email from UCSF BMS stating that they’ve put me in their “holding category.” What do you think my chances are of getting an invite at this point?

I haven’t heard from UMich PiBS.

Safe to say I should anticipate a rejection?

Anyone know when we hear about UCSF Tetrad admissions?
Interviewed a week ago; fingers crossed!

Accepted to UMich PIBS Biophysics today!

Is it a bad sign that I only got 6 interviews when there are 8 slots on the schedule?

I am in Tetrad. I received emails from no less than 4 PIs letting me know I’m accepted and congratulating me. It was pretty awesome.

Agreed, I got a phone call from the TETRAD director on Wednesday and then a few e-mails throughout the rest of the week congratulating me on being admitted. I thought the people were wonderful, the campus and the city are ideal, but the research just didn’t click for me and I am unlikely to attend.

@therunner123

I doubt it. At UCLA they had slots for more interviews than anyone had. It just made scheduling easier.

Last day of UChicago Immunology! My roommate and I chose not to go out last night (both exhausted), so we have nooooo idea when we’re meeting up with everyone for brunch. Whoops.

I still haven’t heard back from 5 of my programs, and I figure I’m not in any of them. So why won’t they just tell me? Grrr.

@phirah
i think they like to see us squirm…

does anyone know if vanderbilt igp is still sending out invites?

Anyone know if Mt Sinai and Einstein are still having interviews? I think last year Einstein had interviews into March, just checking to see if this year is the same.

@All4smylez: what program did you apply to, and did you receive an interview yet? Or are you waiting to hear post-interview?

My friend applied to MIT chemistry in mid-December and he got accepted 2 weeks ago. I submitted my bio graduate school applications in November and I have to wait till March for the results… The waiting game is wearing me down.

Hey Guys,
Anyone knows about Rockefeller? At gradcafe some posted that got a rejection via email (fev10) but I got neither a acceptance nor a rejection. Anyone else got a rejection already?

Thanks!

@Immunol: I emailed Rockefeller about a week ago, and they essentially told me I got rejected. But gave no indication whether they are done with acceptances.

So if I haven’t heard from Tetrad, does that mean I’m not getting in? Or that I’m not at the top of the list, but not all of the decisions are made until the next group of people are doing interviews?
