I’m glad you liked the look of Yale and good luck with your applications. I for one am not too hopeful of going to Grad School in the States this Fall with the way my application season has gone. BUT, I am still holding out some hope for Rockefeller.

I can understand what you’re saying about not liking the idea of living in New Haven but at this point my perspective is crappy city vs no grad school and I would pick crappy city. Maybe my perspective will change if I get multiple offers (I’m now applying to other countries). Good luck with deciding what’s best for you ;)

I was at the January interviews for MCW IDP. It was a really enjoyable experience, and definitely very relaxed throughout the weekend. Only advice is to not get stressed or worried about it, it was fairly informal throughout.

Thanks for the advice! I’m glad it was an enjoyable experience! I have family and friends in the Milwaukee area, so I’m excited to see what MCW is like.

GPA: 3.19/4.00 from HBCU
3 years research experience in undergrad (LSU, Michigan, Clemson)
4 years research experience in industry

No publications in peer reviewed journals
12 Internal Technical Reports ( 8 as 1st Author)
1 International Poster Presentation
Leader of international projects for my business unit.

Still Prepping for GRE.

With what I have provided, what more should I have to do to have a chance at a top 50 graduate school in the biomedical sciences. The vast majority of my research for the past four years has been in industrial process/process understanding work. Also, I am a domestic applicant

@scaleupchem i think you have a shot… your gpa is not so great and some school use them as a cut (i think most schools expect >3.4 and you either have that box checked or you don’t). other than that i think you are fine.

if i were you i would try to send my app to some tops schools but i would have a few not so great schools too; but that’s just me

Quick question, I interviewed at three different schools, one a month ago (WashU), two weeks ago (Michigan), a week ago (Washington, Seattle) and last weekend (Duke), yet haven’t had ANY contact from all four. Do they send rejection emails or do they call you to let you know if you’ve been rejected? Should I be worried or just go with the flow?

Almost forgot, just wanted to say congrats to everyone’s acceptances and wish each and every one of you the best of luck with your endeavors ;-)

@Geek4life: I’ve never heard of people getting rejected via phone… Sounds likes a horrible idea. Anyway, if the school does not do rolling admission, you will have to wait till its last interview ends, which may be quite a while from now.

@ Geek4life. If you were at Duke for Biochemistry I was there with you. I got a call yesterday saying I was accepted, but he said that there would be an email following which I have not yet received. I think they may just be sending the email because he said he was calling me early, and I think that was just because I spoke a lot with him while I was there so don’t fret. Good luck, and I am sure that you will be fine since you have so many options. Also, I have heard back from Yale MB&B via email :). Enjoy the rest of the interview season everyone.
