2011 UCLA Transfers: The Central Thread for Discussion and Decisions

for the fin aid hack: you go on ursa and click on the links that says “view financial awards and summary on ursa” and “view financial aid and document tracking”. If you see your summary posted with the dollar amounts then its a good sign. On the document tracking, if you see your fafsa with a status of completed with a date next to it, then thats also a good sign. If you didn’t file a fafsa then you obviously won’t see anything. So the hack won’t really tell those people anything.

Awesome - la4ever09, thanks a lot for the response. Appreciate it!

Thanks. What I see is: “You do not have a Financial Aid Summary for this Award Period.” But yeah, I didn’t apply for financial aid.

no problem :)

Anybody have any idea when we should expect the URSA page to change to show the SIRs in advance of admissions decisions being released tomorrow afternoon? Would the change happen today or just a few hours before the release tomorrow (assuming tomorrow afternoon is correct)?

What do people who applied for financial aid, but who don’t see their summaries in dollar amount see?

I’m able to see my financial aid and document tracking as of last friday. If you applied for financial aid and don’t see any summary, then the message should say “you don’t have a financial aid summary for this award period”. Also, i noticed something about the housing link. I was able to access it last friday before they took the link down. If you see a message right now of “fall 2011 applications are not available yet” then i think its good. If you see “we are unsure of your enrollment status” then i don’t think thats good, but i wouldn’t give up hope yet. I used to get the unsure of your enrollment status message but that changed on friday when i was able to see my aid info and document tracking.

I’m sorry. I’m way behind you guys, but:

How did you create the URSA account? When you’re setting it up, and it says "I am a: "
What do you check? Did you check the box next to “New Student” or something else?

@la4ever09: I also get the"fall 2011 applications are not available yet" message when I click on housing!
Does anyone here get a different message?

I wouldn’t click on that stuff now because they’re updating ursa until noon, and everything is viewable only.

Riteofspring-until noon today?

@Wacker1990

Check “New Student” when you create the account.

Hey I have been lurking for a while, but the anticipation is killing me so I am trying to pass time now ;)

Major: Chemistry
GPA: 3.81
Avg for my major: 3.60
IGETC done
Accepted into UCSB, UCSC, UCD and UCI
pending: UCSD, UCLA, UCB

I didn’t fill out a FASFA so no insight as to whether or not I am in except by my gpa… The only thing is I never took two of my prereqs (Ochem 1 and 2) but the UCLA rep said it hasn’t been a problem for chem majors in past years however with the growing number of applicants it could be this year. Also I got a B in Chem 2 which may look bad =/

Any speculation from you all???

My major in my myucla is not showing again. It was there yesterday all I see is a blank white bar. Is this a glitch? I got the call and the email for the scholarship yesterday and I see both financial aid things in my ursa

Can someone who has not messed around with the Summer stuff send me a PM? I want to test something, but don’t want to burn it publicly if admissions spies try to disable it.

Edit: I actually need two people–A strong candidate who has not messed with the summer stuff, and a marginal candidate who has. Send me a PM ASAP.

Uhhhhhh… what’s a PM? I haven’t messed with the summer stuff.

Pinoiako916, I just now checked to see if anything has changed, but it has not. My major still shows up, and the Fin. aid stuff is still there exactly as it was before.

I think it is most likely some sort of glitch.

Yah I think it’s a glitch. Those that can see their major, see it for a couple days, then it goes away. It ain’t no thang

@socalgrl

I know it’s pretty cool ha. But everybody at VC is so unmotivated so blehh… but just the AGS and PTK things… not to much other then that? Of course the deans list thing but all u have to do is breathe and you’re basically on that. But yea i have a lot of film things under my belt. and I coach high school football

Any Comparative Literature majors or anyone from San Diego area waiting for a decision?
