<p>So…we’ve finished our regionals and sectionals competitions so far. Are there any other CCers doing WYSE in Illinois or Missouri? How are you guys doing so far?</p>
<p>Never heard of it. Is it regional in the US? Just IL or MO? Sounds like a great program though.</p>
<p>It’s only in IL and MO. It’s run by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Basically, what it entails is test-taking. UIUC creates the tests in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Graphics, and Computer Science. They are meant to get progressively harder as one goes from regionals to sectionals to state level. We have a club/team for it at my school, as do several other schools in Illinois. If you do WYSE, you take two different subject area tests and medals are awarded to the top 3 scorers of each subject area and trophies are awarded to top schools. I recently competed at our Sectionals competition in IL and apparently won 1st in Chemistry. :)</p>
<p>Ya I won the computer science test at regionals by a pure miracle. I had never seen the test before and am absolutely awful with anything that has to do with technology. I have no idea how to write code or what any of it means. The only stuff I knew was the binary questions. (I only took the test because we needed one more person to take it)</p>
<p>Then I missed going to state in chemistry by 3.</p>
<p>So now that the Unlimited, 1500, 700, and 300 Divisions have all concluded WYSE State Finals, how did you guys do? I tied for 1st in Chemistry in Unlimited Division. Any other CCers who were there?</p>
