2012 Chancellor's Scholarship interviews

There are reasons why schools release their admission decisions and financial aid packages no later than early April.

I understand and respect the difficulty of scheduling and completing 50 on-campus interviews plus making the final decisions, but hopefully they recognize that there are 50 kids and families struggling in various degrees with the entire college choice process while waiting for them to finish. We’re happy to be in the running, but not knowing this late in April can make for some stressful times - very stressful in our case.

The April 15th decision date shown on the application website seemed reasonable…

I wonder if Pitt is using “rolling” award process. I was reading Chancellor’s Scholarship threads for 2010 and, based on what people posted at the time, it sounded like rolling award rather than releasing all decisions at the same time. If anybody has any insight on how past awards were given, I would love to know. This is somewhat stressful.

Here’s the thing about past awards…the honors college dean is in his first full year with the honors college. Two years ago this month, dear Doc Stewart (honors college founder and founding dean) died. An interim handled last year, and now there is a new honors dean. So, IMO, all bets are off as to what has been done in the past.

Best wishes to those of you who are waiting. Lots of really great non-chancellor 's choose Pitt.
