Just wanted to start a thread for those who have applied to Pitt and are waiting for results. D27 applied on 8/4 and is hoping to hear soon based on a friend who heard on 8/27 last year.

I did a grad program at Pitt, taught undergrads including eventually my own lecture classes, also later came back as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the law school, have represented Pitt as an attorney, my S24 applied back in his cycle (although ultimately went elsewhere), and I still live in the area . . . so I am just hanging out to provide some support, and maybe help answer questions if they come up and I know something useful.

Daughter got an email at 7:11 tonight (Friday 8/28) and for acceptance. This was much earlier than we expected! School of Business.

Hoping for a decision this week before Labor Day weekend. Applied 8/6 under review 8/10; Dietrich test optional. Anyone know if admissions releases decisions on a certain weeknight in these early Aug/Sept months?
Last year the first acceptances came out on a Wednesday, and then I believe a Friday after that. There didn’t seem to be much consistency to the dates, but in state students often heard before out of state applicants.

Two years ago my son heard back on a Thursday and I distinctly remember it being after 7pm.

Exciting! When did he apply and when did he go under review?
He submitted common app on 8/14, and then did the STARs and submitted ACT score on 8/28. This morning his status was flipped to ‘awaiting decision’.
Congrats on getting the application in! The status Awaiting Decision typically means that all of the necessary materials have been received and you should expect to hear a decision in 4-6 weeks. Good luck!
