I got a letter around early in December saying that I had advanced from the lodge to the district level. Since then, I haven’t heard anything. Did I make it to state or did I just not get a letter? I’m in Arizona, by the way. Anyone in AZ hear back yet?

We are in MS and my son received a letter yesteday from our local lodge (dated 1 Feb!) that said he had moved on to the next level of judging. Didnt even mention if that was State or District or anything. I had seen elsewhere that National finalists would be notified by the end of this month so I was really curious as to why he hadnt heard anything from State or whoever else. I contacted the State chairpeson and she replyed that 2 finalists were moving on to Nationals and that my son was not one of them, but that he would be receiving $1000 nonetheless! So, I would suggest getting in touch with your State rep to find out.

Has anyone in NY heard back yet?

Has anyone received a rejection letter from California? I moved forward from my local lodge and I know someone who got some money but did not move forward. I haven’t heard from them at all and am not sure why. Any thoughts on this.

Caligirl, maybe you should call or email your local lodge to find out more…

@EmailyET I contacted the ELKs Scholarship Office in Chicago and they say wait to see if I receive an email on the 27th of Feb. They also said I might not have moved on from the District Level.

There’s still a chance! I hope you moved to nationals :)

I emailed the state scholarship chair, and found out that I recieved a one-time $1k scholarship, so I’m assuming I didn’t move on to nationals.

I got the email that I moved on to nationals :)

Congrates ! do you mind to tell when do they sent out the e-mail?

I just got it, timed 5:19 pm today.

Thanks. my d just got it too.

I just read the e-mail for National Finalists! Does this mean that we are guaranteed at least $4000 — $1000 per year?

I got the email! I’m surprised the secondary application is so short, but I’m glad. Does anyone know whether the top awards are based on both the secondary application and the app from Oct? Or just the secondary?

Bio1995, I’m pretty sure we’re guaranteed ^_- Happiness come true, huh?

Still waiting in NY haven’t receieved word either way, previously got two letters saying my son advanced and we would hear more in late Feb.

National finalist! :)

Is this a MAJOR award?
Is it worth updating colleges about it?

Do they send you the money in check form or directly to the college?

They send the money directly to the college.

If I got a scholarship from a college (say merit for $2,000), this won’t decrease that scholarship, right? Only any potential grants awarded, right?
