2012 HKU/HKUST Comp Science/BBA (IS) applicants

Hello everyone,

I am kinda freaking out because i haven’t gotten an offer/rejection from HKU or HKUST for BENG Comp Science/BBA (IS), what time do these courses usually fill up?

Who got offers for either of these programs? JUPAS/NON-JUPAS doesn’t matter.

All applicants who haven’t gotten offers please feel free to comment as well, this way we can share the grief/joy if one of us gets the rejection/offer.

How many Int’l applicants are accepted for these programs? (I am aware that HKU has increased number of acceptances, but does that apply to Int’l students?

Thanks in advance

HKU will most likely double the intake of students for the 4 year program… however the ratios of intl students will still remain the same. around 20% of student body will be international.

Thanks, I see you are at HKU, how do u like it there? did u get in via IB?

I applied in HKU (IBGM program) in fast track. I got deferred and still havn’t got a decision.

it’s decent, and yes, got via IB

What was ur IB Predicted and for what course?

All my 3 choices are under consideration :frowning:
Because I do A levels, I’ll be considered for the 3 yr program instead of the 4 years-does this mean i have less of a chance?

bluelovexD… i don’t think it works that way, it depends on how much IB people scored and how well the other A level applicants scored… also it would also to some extent depend on ur nationality and how many people from your background have applied, because HKU tends to make sure they have a diversity on campus.

fyi, not so sure if its 3 years for A levels (can’t be sure though)

43 predicted, Biochem/Chem major.

WOAH… what are my chances of getting in then? because i have a 33 predicted, but a really good CV, work experience and a good personal statement. but a 33…

u think they would even consider me for BBA (IS) / Engineering in comp science?

^their conditional requirements in my case was 35 in IB along with at least a 5 in A1 HL English. This includes the bonus and stuff.

BBA(IS) is quite a tough program to get in compared to some others… i suggest you gotta boost up that IB score of yours…

@yashdeshp My 1st choice in engineering (either 3 or 4 years) and coz i did A levels, i already had 13 years of schooling so they’d try to place me in the 3 yrs program…
At least thats how it works for the kids in my school who have gotten in before

Hey how do you know if they rejected you or not? Because I haven’t recieved a email but it seems that you can check the status online? Could you leave the link? Thanks so much! And one of my friend got a unconditional offer for HKU Architecture, I think his predict was AAA.

<a href=“Path Not Found”>Path Not Found;

I didnt receive any offer from HKU(finance) or HKUST(BBA) also…
I applied through international and us curriculum…

Hey guys my 2nd choice was unsuccessful but my 1st and 3rd choices still remain under consideration. I’m sort of confused with this.

1st choice is qfin, 2nd is actuarial science while 3rd is econs and finance.

hey Anyone here , knows how do you manage Hostels after 2 years …cause HKUST does guarantee hostel for 2 years only for undergraduate international students

i also applied to hku and hkust. I got under consideration for all the majors in both university. All my friends who take engineering and business have got the offer from hkust. I chose Science, and I haven’t got anything from hku/hkust. i’m feeling so stressed for waiting those emails.

predicted 39 w/ bonus pt, got conditional offer from HKU and HKUST for biochem
