** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

^a lot of the lower division/introductory classes are being held for new students, so you don’t have to worry about it too much. The waitlisted people are continuing students trying to enroll in that class, but they get enrolled after all the new students register.

I didn’t register for Cal Grant, but now do you think I could still be able to apply since I missed the deadline in March?

Has anyone who got accepted off the first batch from the waitlist recieve their admission packet yet? Specifically if you are from Bay Area/NorCal?

@randroid

I was in the first batch and I haven’t received my admit packet yet–I’m in SoCal though!

@randroid

Yeah, I’m in the first batch as well. And I accepted my SIR righttt away! Still haven’t received it. :slight_smile: Don’t feel left out haha. But didn’t they say we would receive it in a week or two?!

^^yeah they did say that :/

Thurgood Marshall planning to sign up for the Monday orientation too! :)

@randroid: first batch, NorCal, still no admit packet yet…

I wonder what your admit packets look like; though I wasn’t on the waitlist, my admit packet was some large, corny, 3D map of the campus, with references to Transfer Admit Day–of course the acceptance letter was included with the packet.

As corny as the packet was (unfolds to a length of 17"), I use it as a poster (has a picture of the TritonMan wearing 3D glasses) with TRITONS in big letters beneath

@buranka everything is better in 3D ^_^

I got accepted on the waitlist, but I just found out that I got a D in Chem for my Biochemistry major. Will I be rejected now? :(

@Langrisser

I think you will get rejected, but call them and see if there is anything you can do.

Does anyone know how to find out if UCSD received any collage & high school transcripts and the IGETC certification?

Is there somewhere on triton link?

Thanks.

Are high schools open throughout the summer? Or are they only open if there is summer school? I keep calling my high school but they never answer their phones.

Finally signed up for orientation. 9/17 for Eleanor Roosevelt

@ddark from myapplication if you click the thing “Send official transcripts due July 15” at the bottom of that long paragraph it should say when they received your transcript if they got it. As for igetc I’m not completely sure

@ddark–IGETC Certification is listed in the same place and way how your received transcripts are listed (mentioned above by Actraiin).

Does anyone know how long ap scores take to be sent?

Took about 1 week for my scores to get there when I ordered them over the phone.

Can anyone help me check if Physics 31B is transferable to UCSD?

Hey guys,
i was accepted off the second batch in roosevelt college majoring electrical engineering. My first choice was sixth college and mechanical engineering but unfortunately i couldn’t get it! i was wondering if you could change the college and the major before you begin. Also, on my application it’s saying IGETC certification but i didn’t complete my IGETC yet, and i made that clear in my application! will they reject me now after they have accepted me?

@Langrisser - It doesn’t look like it does transfer or if it does it doesn’t fulfill any requirements. The easiest way to check if it affects your transferable gpa though is to go to the tag app and enter that class in and see what it says. You dont have to actually turn the app in but I like to use it to see what transfers.
@Petogo - Yes you can change your major as long as its to a non impacted major. Mechanical engineering is impacted so you would need to look at the department website for specifics on switching to that one. And I believe you can trade schools with someone else. So if you find someone in Sixth that wants to be in whichever you were accepted to you guys can trade. You can also petition to get out of your college but that is a lot harder. More about that option is here -> [The College System: FAQ](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/colleges/about/FAQ.html#switch)
As far as IGETC goes, I believe everyone has that section. I’m not exactly sure because I did complete IGETC but if you made it clear on your app that you didnt then I wouldnt worry too much about it. I highly doubt it is an issue but if you want to be sure you can always call them on monday.
