Anyone else transferring to UT for the SUMMER? I just can’t wait for the Fall, so I decided to apply for the summer. I’ll be a neuroscience major. Anyone know where they might live? I’m thinking West Campus. I’ll probably sublet for the summer and then get a real lease for the fall (once I know more about where I want to live).

@lelouchFTW It’s better than going to Lonestar for another semester. I’d rather die then go back there. I hate that place and everything it stands for.

@jpgarcia6 I don’t really know much about Lonestar but I guess it’s better than UT Dallas. Only reason I laugh at UTD is because I currently go there right now, and I absolutely hate it. It’s so small, there’s hardly anyone around since they’re all cooped up in their dorms or commuting… A strict study school which is ok I guess, but not very lively… It just seems so mediocre, and I don’t get much of a challenge. My freshman year has been comparable to my senior year in high school, I’ve just slacked off with good grades. With even more free time in college I feel like I’ve just been wasting my life which is why I want to desperately transfer the **** out of there. There’s no way in hell I’m staying there for another year.

@jpgarcia6 I saw your previous post and I think I saw one person applying for Communications who got their decision like a month (in mid June) after sending transcripts. And what’s so bad about Lonestar? Asking because I’ll probably be taking classes there for the summer.

Haha I’m going to Lonestar-CyFair too. What’s your campus jpgarcia ? For me it’s like spending 2 more years in high school. I want real college experience

@shawnk01 yeah haha, I just can’t wait till finals here at Lone Star are finished this week so I can submit the remaining hours I have to get the 30+. Hope we both get in though!

Chance me?!?!

Waiting on my 30 hours.
GPA: Should be around 3.7
Good Essays
Letter of Recommendation
Industrial/Organized Psychology Club
Volunteer/Work Experience

HELP

applying for COLA undeclared and Advertising

I go to Lone Star Cy fair too. Haha. I’m waiting to finish finals and I will hopefully keep my 4.0 for 30 hours exactly. I am applying for RTF and UGS so hopefully things go well. The wait will kill me though. I really don’t think I can go to Lone Star another year. It sucks.

On a side note, does anyone know any statistics/data for transfer admissions regarding gpa and such? I look at them at my spare time because over-analyzing and stressing over things are my favorite pastimes.

@lelouchFTW I can guarantee you that what you experienced at UTD is nothing compared to Lonestar. Lonestar is comparable to my freshman year of high school. I hate that place so much. Just thinking about it makes me want to punch somebody in the face. I’m not learning anything at all and I literally hardly even open up my backpack. I literally do nothing but sit in class and think about what a failure I am. I would rather die than go there for another semester. I despise that place and everything it stands for. I can tell you right now UTD is much better. You don’t know how good you have it.

The only reason I don’t have a 4.0 is because I got a little cocky last semester in government and ended up with a 86 or something. I also took dual credit English in senior year and we all know the problem with that. I got a little cocky with government again but my grade is a 88.65. I talked to the professor multiple times, attended a event for extra credit, and have been in class every single day. Do you think he would bump me up? He’s a pretty chill professor and he knows I desperately need an A.

@Hughstan What I have just described to you is two semesters worth. A summer session likely won’t be as bad. You aren’t attending for long so it won’t be the same.

You can’t compare lonestar to UTD, it’s a community college. I’ve had tons of problems with lonestar personally, but comparatively to other community colleges it’s one of the best in the nation.

Admitted to Mccombs !!
International student; 4.0 with 43 hrs, 60 hrs after this semester.
leadership position, a few volunteer hrs

cant believe I am rejected. I got in lehigh and wisconsin madison… I can only say it all depends on luck

Kimimaro. Congraz!!! Where do you live?? Are you studying in a School in Texas??? I applied for McCombs too :"(

Omgomgomg, I haven’t received any email but the application status has changed to complete. And now I have 5 things “to do” and 3 things "recommended, including paying admission deposit and upgrading UT EID password. That means I’m officially admitted right? I’m so excited, finally!

International, Electrical Engineering, College GPA 4.0, 3 essays, recommendation letters, volunteer/other activities.

Yep, Kierrs! Congrats!

You won’t be getting an email, either. Just the notification on that page. :)

@hnguyen147: I go to lonestar, a cc in houston. I’m from vietnam like you
@Kierrs: check on the right, your status would change to “admitted”. Well I guess they don’t congratulate admits anymore :|
