2013/2014 Fall Transfer Thread

Thanks. And I’ve gotten the email already, a few hours after my application info changed. :)

Can you check your inbox please ? Kimimaro :frowning:
Congratulations everyone that get in :D. I’m so nervous

Concratz~~~!!! I got admitted into UT as Chemistry major. I have a question, why is my major listed as Chemistry,Entry Level? anyone? any idea?

In CNS, most (if not all) programs consider you entry-level until you start taking upper-division courses that are tailored to a specific track within your major. For example, I’m an Economics and Math major. Since math is in the College of Natural Sciences, I’m an entry level until I knock out the basic entry-level math courses. Once I complete those, I’ll be designated as Math-Actuarial Science.

@AokiKazo what were your stats if i may ask?

Has anyone that had 30+ at the deadline not heard back yet? & if so what is ur major and GPA?

propa-yne7:I am a transferred student with 6+ credit hours, finished Cal 1&2,UPHYS1&2,CHEM1&2,and all other pre-co classes. Are those considered basic entry-level courses? I am done with all those. Question: How can I know my courses are already transferred to UT since I get admitted? Is there any where I can know? My point is that if UT admit me as a freshmen, I will be really upset because I have to repeat all the college course I have taken in a 2 year institute

If you got admitted with more than 30 transferable hours, then you won’t be classified as a freshman.

You need to take Calculus III to be not be considered entry-level any more. You won’t have to retake anything, assuming everything transferred like it was supposed to.

@lanvinboy14 I have over 30 hours, not including this semester, and I still haven’t heard back from CNS yet. I put UGS as my second choice. So nervous!

propanye7: Thank YOU! SO MUCH. I feel so much better now. You would not believe how disturbing it is. I had nightmare everyday thinking what if all the courses are not transferred, thinking about the money I have to pay again to learn all the old stuffs. -.-!
Thanks propa-7nye!

Lavin boy: My stats is 6+ cr hours. 3.something( I am sorry, dont really remember .).

To all: hook’ em for final week(exams). PUSH!!!

Propa-nye7: and the issue why I am so worry is that in my IDA I guess “IDA planner-View & Registered Courses” , I only have M 408 as known as Cal 1 on that sheet of page. Do you know what it really means? Thanks propanye

Aoki,

There should be another letter after M408…it should be a C,D,K,L,N, or S.

If you’ve taken Cal 1 and 2, chances are UT gave you credit for them. When you come to orientation your adviser will for sure clear everything up.

The worst is over (or just begun, depending on your outlook) now that you’ve gotten admitted. Your CNS adviser will point you in the right direction. You’ll probably just have to take Calc 3 (M408 M) and some basic requirement courses, and maybe an upper division Chem course.

Good luck.

congrats all admits. Can’t wait to see y 'all on orientation

im thinking about changing my second choice major to COLA…can you still take classes like Organic chemistry and Genetics even if your a Liberal Arts Major at UT? or is it reserved only for CNS students?

So I got accepted to UT Austin School of Education for Physical Sports Culture major last week. Is it actually easy to get accepted to that major? I have a high GPA but I mostly submitted other college’s admission essay to UT Austin cuz it is very similar. I’m not going to UT Austin since it is not my first choice, but should I still be proud of myself getting accepted to that major?

Hi everyone, I was admitted for entry-level computer science (but might appeal to McCombs for business). I’m wondering how many years it would take to graduate with the computer science major given that I’m an entry-level? Will it still be the standard 2 years or most likely take an extra year?

Thank you to anyone who can help.

Just got my grades back from this sem to turn in to ut. Do you guys think a 3.86 will get me into Petro or Electrical Engineering? (Cal 1 and 2, Physics 1, Chem 1 and 2 and other misc humanity classes) Chem 2 is my only b. I’m super worried about Petro so any opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

averagejosh has above average grades and should easily get in, my opinion.

theuglyone

entry-level means you have to take CS 312, CS 314, CS 311, and Calculus M 408D/S/L

Hello all. Has anyone called in the past few days to ask about when we should expect decisions? Particularly for CNS?
