Just called. They seemed kind of annoyed and pretty much just told me the usual “keep an eye on your status page”. They also said my transcript did indeed show 37 hours (I’ve heard sometimes if you send your transcript online it messes up and doesn’t give you credit for everything) and that they are trying to get decisions made by the end of next week. Hopefully that’s true. If I don’t heard by next Friday I’m going to need to get the ball rolling on my UTD application.

Sorry it’s taking so long bro. Personally the decisions are coming out incredibly slowly so I wish you the best of luck.

Still waiting to hear from the college of education… 3.52 gpa… is anyone else waiting to hear from the college of education?

chiUTAustin heard back and he had a 3.5 GPA. You should be hearing back very soon. I called them Friday and they said they aim to get decisions out by the end of this week.

Hughstan: How’s your appeal going?

Dpayan7: great actually! I got accepted into my first choice major on Thursday.
Any word on your application?

My App status never updated after they received my spring transcripts! Kind of scary, I called and the admissions counselor didn’t know why it didn’t update so they had me call the director of admissions. But he wasn’t even in his office all of this past week so I called again today and he’s “catching up” on work, so I’m basically playing the waiting game again. Waiting on him to respond to my voicemail/email it sucks.
They said to call back Wednesday but I’m so worried that my application will be overlooked if I keep waiting

I have a quick question guys. So I’m applying as a transfer. I was denied admission but the lady in the office called me and said they were ready to reconsider me, I need to send in my spring transcript. I did that, and met with the counsellor personally. She practically said Ill get in. After my appeal being approved I was denied again. I called her up but she was a little annoyed because it’s been really busy lately. She just told me to try the second appeal option. I did that. Had anyone done that, or knows if the second appeals are taken seriously?

Hello everyone! So my best friend was applying to transfer to UT, and of she got in she was going to live with my sister and I. Unfortunately, she was denied, and now we are scrambling to find a third roommate this coming semester. I know some of you guys who just got accepted might be scrambling to find housing too, so if you are a girl and are interested in living with 2 other girls in a nice appartmrnt that’s literally right next to campus, please email me at melissa04meyer@ gmail. com. Congradulations on getting in to an incredible university! Hook 'em!

Annanoble: they called you?
I have a similar situation. My appeal was approved and they requested my spring grades (I got a 4.0 this spring semester) but my app status never updated from my initial “not admitted” status. They received my spring grades and I literally checked my status an hour after they received them and literally nothing changed for me and I know they didn’t reevaluate my application. I called admissions but they said they had no idea why my status didn’t change. I’m a nervous wreck right now. I really want to go to UT but I keep running into these roadblocks.

There’s a second appeal option?

Yes apparently there is a second appeal option. If you don’t mind e asking what is your cumulative gpa and what school did you apply to. Also my status had changed from ‘not admitted’ to ‘complete/online’ after they approved my appeal. But then I got denied again and it changed back to not admitted.

Annanoble: I have a 3.5 with my spring grades but have tons of industry experience. My major is rtf. My status never changed at all

Got accepted yesterday. :)

Unfortunately I didn’t get into Radio-Television-Film. Looks like the wait was for nothing. Everything I tried so hard for was for nothing.

Oh wait, no it’s not. BECAUSE I GOT INTO UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES! ASDRKLHGSDFKHGKL;SHDFGKL’HSJLD;G I CAN’T I JUST CAN’T I HAVE LOST MY ABILITY TO CAN!

Will update with stats as soon as I regain my ability to can.

edit: Okay here are my stats

Applied to both Radio-Television-Film and UGS.
-3.57 GPA (3.43 at the time of application deadline, 3.57 after spring semester).
-37 hours (21 at the time of application, 37 after second transcript)
-Two really good essays. Looks like they weren’t good enough for RTF though. Worked on them for a month during my winter break. Had them checked twice by a writing committee and both times they said they were perfect in terms of content but there were a few technical problems (which they helped me fix).
-One letter from my history professor.
-Lackluster resume. The only part of my application I wasn’t proud of (aside from my GPA but I took dual credit in high school so in college my GPA was a 3.8ish). Aside from my job at Best Buy I had nothing.

I had everything sent in and my application was complete on May 14th. Didn’t hear back until June 18th.

Okay so how do I sign up for orientation? I have the link to the page but I can’t find out how to actually register.

edit: Nevermind I got it. Looks like the only date is July 15th.

Congratz jpgarcia! I just got accepted to UT Cola Government as well!! OMG im so happy LOL! Man the odds were against me; I had a 3.44 gpa and 2 essays (ill be honest, it was last minute and crappy). And 2 rec letters from my boss and government prof. at acc! Seriously thankful to God for blessing me with such a opportunity! God is GOOD!

Y’all think ill get into COLA with a 3.34, rockin’ essays, r

@hughstan: talked to the dean of admissions earlier and the fixed my status. It now says “complete/on time” I’m so nervous now! How long did it take for you to go from “complete” to admitted?

@jpgarcia congratulations on your acceptance!
i’m pretty positive that they were only able to accept the highest GPA’s for transferring into RTF since there are such a limited number of seats, the only people i’m aware of that got in both had 4.0’s, i know i worked hard this past year to keep that up because i knew admissions wouldn’t really care too much about my essays and resume, it really just comes down to that number. take easy classes during your first semester to try and get a 4.0 so you’ll be able to transfer into RTF (i’m assuming you still want to ultimately get in!). try to work on some crew calls so you can spice up your resume a bit and of course strengthen your essays even if you think they’re already the best, there’s always room for improvement! i’m sure mine could’ve been better! if you’d like, i don’t mind sharing mine!
