*****2013 October 16th PSAT Answers*****

I’ll start
vocab:
martin luther king - tenuous
speaking in front of people - submissive, acquiesce
author and his following - caustic, trial

maths:
numbers 500 through 1000 inclusive - 1999
x + x/1 > y - y/1 = all three possibilities
number of students at the computer lab - something around 128
number of people who bought both candies and butter(idk) was 7

writing:
the very last question was “capacity to something”
I had just 1 no error I think. maybe 2.

Got the Martin Luther King one wrong… (protracted)

Vocab

Cartography
credulous
litany

For the error ID section(writing), I had 3 E’s. What’s even more surprising is that I had only 2 A’s for improving sentences section(first 20 questions).
What answer did you guys get for the next-to-last question in section 5(writing)? The question asked to select the sentence that would best be inserted directly after sentence#10.

I put the speaker guy would say like kind words for the tribe leader

I don’t think I did that well on the writing… I was stuck on like 5 problems 2 in improving sentence and like 3 in sentence id.
For that one cr question did you guys put simile or was it hypothetical muse?

Writing:
Second to last error id question I believe. Went something like “People are meeting with the mayor to demand that the records of the businesses long since defunct be preserved.” I put (A) are meeting, but most people I talked to said they either put (C) long since, or (E) no error. I asked my English teacher about it and she agrees with me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I were wrong.

Reading:
There was a vocab question, I think it was the second to last sentence completion in the second reading section. I remember the second word in the correct answer choice was balk, but I can’t remember any of the others. The sentence was about a woman who was at a meeting but didn’t want to talk in front of the committee or something like that? Haha I can’t remember.

@victorp I’m 99.9% sure it was simile.

and that one writing question no sooner had the plan landed when I heard people on their phones or something like that. Was it no sooner than? or landed than instead of when?
For the last section in math I got 3 for the last questions the ax^2 question and 4 on the one before that which I dont remember. I’m pretty sure I got an 80 on math provided that I didn’t screw up the easy questions…
writing I don’t know what happened but I was so slow… normally i finish within 10 mins to spare this time I was stuck

i dont think i got nmsf :(

I put simile and normally I do well on the writing section, but it was difficult. I got at least 5 no errors.

Does anyone remember what they got on the math free response. I remember only a few of my answers which were 7,3, .11, and 1001, <— pretty sure that one’s wrong though.

the x+1/x-1 was 1999 cus 1000+999/1000-999= 1999 the last one was 3 I’m pretty sure, the one before that I put 4 but I don’t remember the question

I don’t think I got the cutoff score. I did really bad on Math, and I was skeptical of some of the writing MC. CR is always easy to me but somehow someway I always get 2 or 3 wrong in each section.

What did everyone put for the last sentence error question? The one about the female mathematician.

CR:
I got vindictive and lark for one

Math:
There was a question about how many small triangles fit into a bigger triangle. I got 9 but I may be wrong.

Free response:

 • 3/8
 • 1999
 • 3 for the last one

Writing:

 • I got 4 no errors idk why

I don’t remember the last free response math . What was the question, and I will try and remember my answer.

I got confrontational for a question

I don’t remember the last math fill in question. Can someone remind me , please.

I don’t remember the vocab question: author and his following - caustic, trial. What was the sentence?

What was the answer to the improving sentence question regarding the Greek goddess Nike?
