2014 SCEA hopefuls?

shhh 10char

I’d say that a better way to say it would be:
“Ego dico linguam latinam.” You’ve gotta make sure that your D.O. is in the accusative case. The problem with this sentence is that Latin has a huge number of verbs for “to say.” You could use loquor, for, or effor–personally, I’d say that dico is the best, but I haven’t majored in Classics yet, so I wouldn’t know enough to tell you that dico is the verb that the Romans would use.

<3 Latin :D

p.s: does anyone know if those who submitted a music supplement find out earlier if the music director liked them?

haha bluescreen, my latin class learned like nothing. it was quite the joke.

but i know many prayers by heart in latin. ave maria, pater noster, etc

^ I doubt it. We get decisions the same time as everyone else.

the only i latin i know is 2 verses of “oh come all ye faithful”

Stupefy- Wow-It sounds like you had my math teacher as an interviewer. He went to Yale undergrad and Harvard Law and says they EXACT same thing about how Yalies are more well-rounded. He said that people at Harvard tend to be great in their own particular areas while people at Yale are great at just about everything (and are more socially competent ;))

And I really hope if I go to Yale, I don’t ever run into pigsatsea. :)

who speaks latin nowadays? ahhahaha no one

@musicalmish, thats a relief. I thought we were treated the same way as athletic recruites but i havent actually heard back so i sure hope not! lol

^^I agree…although i’d love to meet the rest of you :D

hahahahahah sadly, athletic recruits > music major hopefuls. sigh

many people speak latin, technically.

really, what happened was that latin morphed into the rest of the romance languages.
youd be surprised by the overlap.

haha yeah. :frowning:

what do you play, musicalmish?

i play the oboe and the piano.
you?

i speak morphemes toooo

I heard that Cornell is giving out ED decisions on THURSDAY
some people have all the luck

I WISH we heard back from the people who listened to music supplements.
yeah, what do you two play?

well…if the supplement is looked well upon, it’ll definitely show in the form of…acceptance most likely ;]

I hope so :]
that’s cool, oboe is like third on my long instruments to learn asap list lol. how long have you been playing?
btw I play violin and piano, submitted violin audio but wrote my common app essay on piano.

I’m so upset; I wasn’t able to submit my music supplement by November 1st because of weird recording scheduling and whatnot. I thought about sending it in electronically anyway, but I feel like the decision is already made. Also, if I do get deferred, =x knock on wood, I will just submit it then I think.
