2014 SCEA hopefuls?

We’re almost to the one-week-left mark!!!

I really hope my music supplement was decent by Yale’s standards, lol. I had a terrible time recording it and it really wasn’t as good as I would have liked it to be… But at least I’m not a music major or anything :)

Hopefully that won’t be the reason for my deferral/rejection…

^terrence: recording all sorts of audition CDs and such has been such a pain in the butt :(

chibistar: piano - 13 years (i’m not that great haha), oboe - 5 years (hopefully my major). I actually attend an arts-focused high school right now. :]

@bluescreen - that is correct, although I hate actually writing the ego (I prefer to let the verb imply the person).
@speakmusic14- in AP Vergile non sum, quod schola mea AP’s discipulis non offeret :frowning: (praeter AP calculum), sed in latin IV sum, curriculumque examenis secutus summus.

semper ubi sub ubi.

Do many people submit theatre supplements? I haven’t really seen any from Yale?

^Ravenbelle: oh i have a ton of theater-major classmates at school who applied to yale. so probably.

musicalmish: If I end up going to Yale(!), I know it’s not first and foremost not a music school, but I really hope I will be able to participate in the great things they have there for voice, like the Yale Undergraduate Opera. I too recorded my CD because of audition type things, so we’ll see if I have to send it to Yale or not!

Oh and the friendly atmosphere is wat drew me to Yale too =)
Open-minded and to the liberal side.

But after reading the comments on the piece in YDN on the guy calling everyone sinners makes me think otherwise. A lot of the posters on there seem to be extremely intolerant, most of them are the liberals too!

I’m hoping though that it doesn’t show a holistic view but just those who post more extremely than they would behave in the real world??

@ musicalmish: REALLY??? Wow that’s really amazing as I didn’t think that many people went for Theatre majors … let alone from one school!

terrence: yea…actually, yale doesn’t have a super strong undergrad music program. but yale school of music…omg… :O! that 5 year BM/MM program was what really did it for me. I’m definitely not letting go of my academic stuff either, which is why i like yale so much.
As for the CD, (if you don’t already get accepted), you should totally send it! :)

I would say the Theatre major is thriving seeing as how Yale is so renowned for its Drama school.

You guys are just reposting the same thing a bazillion times

That yale is so friendly, open, socially-competent is already mention like what? A million times? maybe a thousand to get a more accurate representation. Its getting boring…

Ok then-

What do you guys NOT like about Yale? (besides the surrounding area)

I prefer the small-town atmosphere of Princeton, but I like Yale better as a university.

@ fresh101: did u read the whole post? i said i was questioning the open-mindedness

I’ve been to the town of Princeton, the college within it, and Westminster Choir College (part of Rider University). At all these places in the town, I loved the atmosphere as well. As xatuuatx said, though, I feel Yale “fits” me more.

Are you serious? I loved New Haven!!!

No, really.

^ xatuuatx; same with me! i love Princeton’s surroundings. if only yale was yale only located in princeton, haha.

i don’t like how you have to double major in order to be an IR major (or international studies as yale calls it)

I don’t like that the Yale School of Music is for graduates only :P.

Well, I go to Princeton all the time anyway since it’s so close to me.

Anyone ever had ice cream from the bent spoon ;)?
