2014 SCEA hopefuls?

^past years. what annoys me is the “we hope” to get it done by then, instead of a definitve we will get it done by then

I think it’s just been 5 in the past so most likely it will be this year.

I may be looking too much into this, but why do they say “we HOPE to make…” ? Why can’t they just say it’s going to be posted? Makes me feel like it might even be later, haha.

EDIT: I guess bubblegnome got to it first :0

I totally agree! That sounds so vague.

I would think that they’ve already decided on all applications, I mean they aren’t going to finalize their decisions Tuesday morning are they?

I’d have to agree Collegestress16. I don’t think at this point there is much more to discuss.

yep, the most we can do now is just wait.

I can’t stop reading columbia, cornell, and penn’s results threads and wondering what color I’m going to be posting the header in in 4 days…

I feel like Penn’s results were so random this year… Columbia’s was brutal. Dartmouth’s was a sigh of relief. and Cornell was kind of harsh but ok.

Oh, Yale.

I think the results will be there by 5pm, if you can manage to log in amid the heavy traffic. It’s better for Yale to say that the results will be out in the evening than to specifically say at 5pm, so they can avoid being harassed by a thousand super nervous teenagers who are freaking out because it’s 5:05 and the decision’s not up.

Yep, those admission results are so random. I can’t imagine how they admit/reject people so I’ve totally given up.

ah I just saw that post about December 15. too bad it’s not earlier :frowning: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ohmygoshh.
You guys thought columbia’s ED decisions were brutal??
Check out stanford’s. there’s red almost all the way down the page.

^ I’m not surprised. Stanford’s always brutal T____T’’
There’s a kid at my school who got into Columbia ED yesterday. (Three others were rejected, though.) Three others found out today if they get into Penn ED, but I don’t know whether they did or not.
DAAAAAAAAH So nervous~

^Yale is usually a little kinder. Stanford usually rejects a lot of people EA, though it’s still not comforting reading their decision thread…

gasp! standfords came out!

If yale were any tougher than stanford on SCEA then I may as well just give up on getting good news on the 15th. thank goodness they’re usually kinder. [do they accept more people in the EA round or do they just defer and then ultimately reject the same number of candidates that stanford rejects outright?]

but I heard stanfords EA rate was aronud 20%

They definitely defer rather than reject. Not sure about the chance of getting accepted RD after being deferred though.

Um, it certainly doesn’t feel that way reading their decision thread.

20%? that’s actually really good. from what’s posted on CC so far though, it looks more like 5%

If yale defers only to reject later…that’s kinda cruel. I’d been praying for at least a deferral since june, but…now I’m not so sure that deferral would be better than rejection.

I’m not sure that’s accurate. is there any reliable source that states the rate? I know that overall is around 8-9 right?

standford’s ea was shocking. i feel so bad for those rejected right off the bat…

apparently their EA admit rate was 13.7%. yale’s will probably be one percent higher according to what dean brenzel said in the article back in november. wooo, 50 more people!! nottt.

so the only ivys left to release early decisions are…brown and yale??

Stanford’s thread made this seem so real…
