**2015 AP Score Results Thread**

My Lang. teacher did what yours did but the class was way too laid back where classmates consistently goofed off and the teacher didn’t fully prepare us enough for the actual exam. My APUSH teacher only had us write one DBQ and no other essays besides a short response question on every test. The only teacher who has only given reviews at my school was my European teacher freshman year which I inevitably got a 3 on as well. Thank you for your response as I find the study packets helpful online as well sometimes. Good luck with your future endeavors!

@Frigidcold If your future college will only accept a 5, then that would be a good idea. If you’re already getting credit, then it’s time to leave your ego and your parent’s $90 at the door.

I received a 3 this year on WHAP exam. I expected a 4 so minor disappointment.
This adds to the 3 I got last year for the AP Human Geography.

I have the belief that as long as you passed and your school will give you credit for the score then it shouldn’t matter how high or low your score was.

@Frigidcold Did you think the free response portion or the multiple choice portion was harder, for AP chem?

@FLStudent97 yeah, it was fairly rigorous. Also, math just isnt my strength. So the 5 will hopefully help, right?

Hey everyone, got my scores yesterday using proxy.

Calc AB: 5
Chem: 5
English Lang: 5
English Lit: 4
Psychology: 5

Grade 11 (last year)
Biology: 5

Pretty bummed about the English lit because my university doesn’t fully accept credit for English Lang compared to English Lit. Also a 4 translates to only a 3.0 GPA out of a 4.5 scale :frowning: I feel like I was borderline 5 on the lit exam; should I rescore since I can’t really take the lit credit with a 4 without influencing my GPA?

@FLStudent97 My teachers go through the essays in class as well (except for APUSH). They only help me a little but I feel the teachers don’t help as much as they should because their own writing style sometimes are skewed from what the AP graders are looking for or the teachers themselves don’t expect the appropriate work from the students as they don’t understand how to teach the information well enough to their students. I’m taking AP Lit. online over the summer because I am tired of my schools teachers so I will look over the essays closely myself to decipher how they should be written along with reading a lot more literature then what my teachers require of me. Thank you for all of your help! I guess it just shows the varying classes among high schools in relation to when applying to colleges.

No; you’d be wasting your money since you’re extremely unlikely to go from a 4 to a 5.

@BassGuitar Thanks, needed to hear that from someone else. :stuck_out_tongue:

@collgefreak Free response by a mile. I misunderstood a lot of things, my mind was wandering.

@collgefreak Yes, the 5 should help to some extent. Having a couple B’s and B+'s on your transcript isn’t bad if you’re taking the most challenging courses your high school offers. Adcoms want to see that you take the most challenging classes that you can manage at your school, which is by far better than taking all the easy classes where everyone who breathes and has a pulse gets an A+, contrary to what many parents and grandparents, who applied to college in a very different time, think. They want to see a straight A report card.

@FLStudent97 Ok thanks thats somewhat good I guess. So do you think with a 4.3ish GPA and a 35 ACT these AP scores would still give me a chance at some good schools?

@collgefreak Curious, rising junior or rising senior?

@skieurope I know the chances are slim in improving the 4 to a 5, especially since FRQ isn’t rescored. However, the problem I have is that a 4 can’t really be used for credit…

rising junior @Frigidcold

I got these yesterday, so I thought I’d share.

Calculus BC: 5 (yaaay!)
Physics C Mech: 5 (not surprised)
English Lit: 5 (not surprised. I’m really good at the MC)
Comp Sci: 4 (kind of bummed, but the last FRQ tripped me up)
Macro: 4 (teacher didn’t cover all of the material. I had no idea what the last FRQ was about, so I’m pleased)
U.S. Gov: 3 (also didn’t cover all of the material. Plus the class was first semester only, so I forgot… a lot)

The only one I cared about placement-wise was calculus, so I’m pleased. I think taking into account the three 5’s from last year I should get a decent award. Whoopty doo

@collgefreak Absolutely! I was accepted to Emory (with merit aid), Davidson, and Washington and Lee with a 3.9 UW GPA and a 30 ACT.

If anyone does not want to wait until a later date for their AP scores, PM me and I would be more than happy to find them out for you : )

@FLStudent97 Ahh congrats emory is a great school

@FLStudent97 Congrats on your acceptance to Emory!

For junior year, I plan on taking ap psych, APUSH and ap language. Does anyone know of any class that could be a good self-study and wouldn’t divert me too much from any of these classes? (Im really only worried about language since I’m really bad at analyzing rhetorical devices, so I’ll have more time on my hands this year than in sophomore year)
