**2015 AP Score Results Thread**

@agkrut Congratulations! I know a lot of students at my high school (well, before I graduated) struggled with WHAP, especially since it was a sophomore-grade class and many had not fully developed as writers and thinkers.

Are you interested in retaking the AP Bio exam next year? It’s an option if you feel you can get that 4 or 5 the second time around.

I’m really sorry about that!! Definitely take it again. @PSAT2014TAKER

@kamah15 Thanks for the response! I would be somewhat interested, though I’ve read that AP scores can only help you, not hurt you. I’m sure if I put the time and effort into studying again, I would be able to get a 4 or 5, but I just don’t know if that time or effort is worth it if the only effect it would have on me is in obtaining college credits. Seeing as I’ll be applying to mostly UC’s, I would have to take those courses anyways.

@PSAT2014TAKER
In terms of acceptance, a 4 or a 5 makes no difference. If prospective schools will give credit for a 5, but not for a 4, I would encourage you to take it again.

I know what you’re feeling though. Similar situation, got a 4 on Chem. Was just having a bad day, disappointing because I was top of the class. I will be retaking because I’ll be studying the material for Chemistry Olympiad anyways and the schools I’m looking to apply to give more credit/better placement for a 5.

@PSAT2014TAKER
DO NOT FEEL BAD AT ALL! I ended up getting a three on the exam, getting a 4 is a huge accomplishment and most ivy and top schools don’t even accept AP PHYSICS 1 as a credit, they mainly focus on Physics C, trust me the world is not over for college acceptance. They’ll look at other things as well besides AP, who knows what goes on in those admission offices!

@DickTracy I took the course online
@blink24 I read though the majority (mechanics, e&m, fluids, acoustics, relativity) of University Physics 13E last summer and worked through challenge problems from each topic; however, I didn’t use it again until my E&M online course last semester. If you do decide to read it, be aware that calculus is heavily used throughout the book.

I got a 4 on euro history… would colleges (such as Cornell, JHU, CMU etc) look down upon me because of it? I got a B first semester and an A second semester… This is my first AP Test (I am an incoming junior)

Sophomore in CA
AP World History - 5
AP Computer Science - 5
AP Calculus BC - 5
Super happy with my scores and just wanted to share. I had one of my friends on the east coast send them to me. It was a great way to access scores early and got the idea from this forum!

I’m in California and some of us found a way to access our scores early haha.
I got 5’s in APUSH, Psychology, and English Lang and comp. I got 3’s in Chem and Stats and I’m ok with stats because I self studied that in literally 2 days, but I’m really concerned about chem. Would the 3 look bad to any top tier universities?

Pretty satisfied (in California)
AP Lang and Comp- 5
AP Calc- 5
AP Chem- 3
APES- 3

Seeing all these posts about “Will a 4 ruin my chances for top colleges?” is getting pretty tiring. Seriously, there are a dozen MUCH more important things for college admissions than AP scores. Keep in mind that APs are standardized tests that do not show your competence or incompetence in a subject. If you are a math/science person for example, you should have much more than AP scores going for you to show that you are a math/science person. ALL they do is show if you can earn credit or not. Besides, a 4 is a good score, no matter what test. The only reason to be disappointed is if you do not get credit for it.

So if someone gets a 2 in AP Calculus AB, they might still be competent at Calculus? Really now?

Junior in TX (homeschooled - will enroll in online high school for the senior year to get a diploma)

AP Chemistry: 5
AP Statistics: 5
AP Microeconomics: 5
AP Macroeconomics: 5

Last year:
AP Calculus BC : 5
AP Physics C Mech: 5
AP Physics C E&M: 5

I self-studied all except for Chemistry and Statistics (took CTYOnline 12-week course for Chem & 3-month course for Stat this spring). Very happy with the results!

I got my 4 in AP World! ((I feel like crying.))

@Kyuutoryuu Well yeah. The whole purpose of the exam is to place out of the corresponding college course. Since when is the exam supposed to test how good you are at the subject as a whole? It’s one 3 hour test. It can’t possibly test that much. Even if someone wasn’t competent, they still have the potential to be.

I got a 2 on APUSH when I was completely sure I was going to get a 5! This is the first time I’ve failed an exam and I am devastated. Did anyone else get a similar score? I literally knew all the facts, had studied, and felt completely confident on the essays. I got a 4, almost a 5, on a practice exam we did in class. Does anyone know if there is a way to have AP graders do a review of my score or to retake it? If I retook it, what would the consequences be?

I also recieved a 5 on AP Lang, a 5 on Psych, and a 3 on Enviro Science

@sosie98 Yes. You can request a rescore. I’m not completely sure how the process works, but according to other threads, it seems to be that a hand scorer rescores your multiple choice. As for the free response, I’ve heard conflicting information on whether they are scored again or whether only the multiple choice questions are taken into consideration. There is a fee though.

@sosie98 https://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/ap/scores/reporting/for-students

The information is on the bottom of the page. They don’t mention the free-response, but I read of a separate thread that sometimes when you request the free-response booklet, it turns out that they had misplaced it!

Of course, only rescore if you are certain that you truly should have received a different score. There is a success story thread somewhere.

You cannot get a re-grade on the FRQ, only on MC.
