@skieurope Thanks for the clarification!
@sosie98 You still can request your booklet though. It doesn’t include any comments or scores.

2015:
AP Computer Science A: 5
AP World History: 5
2014:
AP US Government & Politics: 5
Turn down for what
I ask because I also got a C second semester in the class.
@sosie98 getting a 2 when you expected a 5 is far off…so checking to see if there was a gridding issue related to the mc might be worth it…not sure that they will do anything about it, but at least you’ll know. I do know that my kid’s apush teacher was a grader for this year’s apush exam, and to say she is tough doesn’t even begin to describe just how difficult she is…lots of C and D grades…few to no A grades…my kid, who always aced social studies classes ended with a B+, just barely…but got a 5 on the exam last year. I would not be surprised if most of the exams she read got low marks, although I think they have 2 readers to balance things out.
APUSH: 5
AP Lang and Comp: 5
AP Spanish Lang: 4
Mad about the 4, I felt amazing about that test!! did this happen to anyone else on spanish?
Pero que te ha pasado amigo?
Freshman year:
AP Comp Sci: 4
True to post-exam prediction. However, a little disappointed about that, as it is my prospective major.
What drives the 5-score rates up so high on some of these tests? Like Calc BC and Chinese/Japanese Language?

Interesting that it’s only 6% for World Hist compared to 11% APUSH - and they said the 2014 World Hist scores were “dramatic increases” from prior years. At my daughter’s HS they take World Hist as sophs and APUSH as jrs. The World Hist was actually the tougher course and, it seems, the tougher exam.
@ohiovalley16 Usually there are high 5’s on the Chinese/Jap exam and Calc BC because on the chinese/jap tests, a majority of people taking it are native speakers and on calc bc, most people who take it are good at math (at least at my school, the people who are bad at math get weeded out before they reach this level taking classes such as stats instead)
@ohiovalley16 I agree that world history is a tougher course, but the phenomenon you described is also why the 5 rate is much lower. Because many schools have students take world before US, many students come into the test as less developed thinkers just because they dob’t have as much experience (for example, I took AP World in 9th grade along with at the very least 120 other freshmen out of 500 in our quite frankly average school). Needless to say, this leads to lower scores.
Art History: 4
English Lang: 4
French Lang: 4
APUSH: 3
Really happy about the 4 in French Lang but disappointed as I wanted a 5 in Eng. Lang and at least a 4 in APUSH
Cal AB: 5
Eng Lang: 4
US: 5
Chinese: 5
Scores for calc and lang are flipped from what I expected… Felt awful about that calc test.
Should I pay for a rescore? I got a 2 on AP world and there are a lot of people saying they got a 3 and they answered only one out of the three essay questions. I answered all three and I know I definitely got points on all of them. I know they don’t rescore the short response, but I’ve heard of some cases where they lost/misplaced the essay packet and just based off the score on just the mc section. I don’t know what to do
83% of the test-takers in AP Chinese and 50% of those in AP Japanese are native/heritage speakers. Considering that the AP tests to a low-intermediate level of the language, the high scores are not surprising. Similarly, the students who tend to take the AP Calc BC class, and therefore the exam, have often accelerated their math curriculum to get to this level, and are therefore truly motivated math students.
IMO, not really; I think the exams are comparable. Remember, AP is supposedly equivalent to a college level course. 75% of those taking the World History test are 10th graders; 83% of those taking the USH test are 11th graders. At that age, there is quite a difference in the level of maturity. Additionally, by the time most students take the USH exam, they have already (usually) had the experience of sitting through an AP exam. It’s one thing taking a practice test in class, but there is quite a difference, IMO, to actually taking the exam live.
@hobothecat I am planning on trying the rescore option. I was super shocked.
@rpanther Do you think if I sent off for a rescore they would let me know that they were missing my free response if that did happen? I don’t want to send off and them just score the multiple choice and I be blindsided.
All 5s!! Super happy.

Yes, they would tell you. The probability of that happening though is very very low. Good luck.
