Anyone know nice/safe places to live around USC?
The Lorenzo is amazing. 5 minute shuttle drive (10 minute walk) I think but way safer and nicer than anything walking distance
@frh777 wow Lorenzo is beautiful… I applied for USC housing and they said I should hear back tomorrow but man … Lorenzo …
How do Lorenzo’s prices compare to USC Housings?
Great now I can’t stop looking at Lorenzo
Does anyone know what goes into determining wether a person gets accepted in the spring or the fall?
Wow, I wanna live at Lorenzo now… that place is gorgeous… So excited and proud to be a Trojan!!! Fight On!
@Sxsxjx amazing right?! Time to apply to a lot of scholarships.
I would like to commend all of you that are active on this thread - from an anxious student, I thank you.
I got an SGR today. I’m done for. My grades dropped in the Spring. I can’t believe it this is how I find out I get rejected. What do I do?
…oops out of time to edit
Lorenzo is beautiful but it is a decent distance from campus. People love it there, just get frustrated at the shuttle sometimes…
Excellent post by @Flambeau in another transfer thread - take a look, good info!
@topchoiceschool I remember this came up because I was a spring admit and lots of people were arguing about it last year One guy claimed that his friend that works in student orientation gave him the full scoop
One thing he said was that GPA is a big factor (USC wants to keep their admitted GPA high), but other things he mentioned included bad personal essays and a student’s age/unit count. Basically, by the end of spring, I had around 100 units completed since I failed to transfer the year before and just took a bunch of other classes. My GPA was something in the 3.9 range, so I would think my GPA didn’t make me a spring admit. Perhaps it was my advanced unit count. The guy said that USC looks at it as “Oh, this student has already waited this long, so they can wait some more”. I’m really against spring admit for transfers because if anything, I think freshmen have more time to spare :\
Anyway, I also think there’s a time component. I’ve never seen a student, no matter the GPA, get admitted for the spring if they received a decision in late April/early May. Oh, I think one’s major also might have an impact.
Viberti applicant here, restrictions changed “Activity Restrictions as of 08:39am on 05/17/2016”! looks like they are reviewing engineering applications!
@zettasyntax so you think the later you have to wait the better chances you have at receiving spring admission? Im a fairly high unit Junior transfer so I’m always curious about the spring admission.
the lorenzo definitely is not a 10 minute walk to campus, its about a mile away. Although the facility is beautiful, the distance is a bit ridiculous and i’ve heard that the shuttles are unreliable
Just a shout out to @zettasyntax for continuing to answer all the questions (even if it is the 10th time it is asked) and provide perspective. You must be a kind and compassionate soul to pay it forward like you are. Another great Trojan!
Do they even offer spring admissions to USC for junior applicants? Because then you would only be able to do 45 units at USC… I would think you would need to do 60 units on campus like a lot of other universities require, and why would they admit someone just for 3 semesters?
I’m a junior applicant and was admitted right into the Fall semester
This thread doesn’t seem as active as previous years
That’s because we’re all waiting, waiting and waiting some more…
