Your son is on TTP, right?

Your son is on TTP, right?
@penntousc https://camel2.usc.edu/TPG/ this is what i used
Yes, he is TTP. He emailed his counselor. Based on her response, hard to tell if she gets it. (that his school calls spring "winter.) At this point, I don’t think the upload button will ever go away.
I wonder if there’s anyone who’s still waiting to hear back if they’re on TTP
@pomeranian4rich mine is likely different then because I’m in PA and I can’t set up a transfer guide that way. When I look on Marshall’s website, it says MATH118 or MATH125 is required for transfer, and at my CC, my Calculus 1 class is equivalent to USC’s MATH125, so I guess I should just be basing my decisions off of that.
It’s so exciting seeing this thread be really active
@John6311 my friend is on TTP and she still is waiting for a reply. She hasn’t gotten any sgr though. She’s a viterbi applicant.
@Cindyciclta hopefully she gets an SGR or acceptance soon!!
@badmintongirl lit lit
@John6311 please don’t. LOL
Do lower GPA (3.2 to 3.5) Marshall applicants ever get admitted?
Is it common for a TTP to get sgr? I thought they just get an acceptance or rejection…
@Cindyciclta no they get an SGR
@BIMguy wait what?
what are the reasonings that someone gets rejected after a sgr? I’ve seen some people from other years that got rejected but their stats were pretty good (3.7). I’m getting worried for no reason now
unfortunately, I don’t think anyone on this thread could answer that as well as an admissions counselor could @Cindyciclta
@Cindyciclta Yeah, it’s very hard to say. I like to bring up myself and this other applicant from the 2014 cycle over and over again He had a very nice GPA (3.8) and was applying for Marshall. He was very nervous because he got a C in his business calc course, but otherwise had all A’s for his spring semester. He got in.
For me, my first major choice was undecided/Dornsife. I got 1 B (also in math, but in a much easier course; stats) and 5 A’s after my spring semester was over. I was rejected.
I know people say that the admissions counselors may not have a lot of power on their own, but at least for SGRs, perhaps they get to set their own standard. I even looked up my counselor’s name on Google and it led me to a thread on this forum where somebody said he likes to reject people, lol
@zettasyntax so you’re saying that my USC counselor determines my acceptance?!
Dang 5 classes is a lot… I only took 3 in spring and one was a language class… I work 28 hours a week to support myself though. But still, I’m worried that the classes I took will cause me to be rejected :o
@Cindyciclta I just believe that in the case of SGRs, the counselors may have a bigger role than usual because when I called the admissions office about my SGR, the lady I spoke with stated that she had never seen such a unique SGR. This just led me to believe that my admission counselor must have been the one responsible for it.
Language classes can be pretty time consuming. My language class actually had a higher unit count (5 as opposed to 4) than my stats class. I honestly only tried an overloaded schedule to try and impress usc, but that obviously did not work
@zettasyntax yes language is time consuming but it wasn’t even a requirement to have for my declared major! (Viterbi). I felt like I wasted 5 units that could be for something else.
@zettasyntax who was your counselor?
