I’m an Annenberg applicant and I still have not heard anything. I would be entering as a sophomore this fall and I had a 3.8 GPA as of last fall, I have legacy at USC, and I was offered ttp last year when i applied as a freshman applicant (however, I did not make an appointment to set it up). I’m extremely nervous because I still have no SGR and I have heard nothing from USC thus far. I have been keeping up with this forum for the past month and I finally felt that I needed to post. Has ANYONE heard about being denied from Annenberg yet? Or better yet, gotten in as a sophomore transfer? (I’m worried as well because I did not take a language course)
For The people that just got accepted did you guys receive an SGR? @mateenjan1 @PolinaMadison @MrMALR
When you got an SGR and all of your professors have posted your grades except one… X(
Is it safe to say that if you don’t hear back in 2 weeks after submitting your spring grades; you’re rejected?
@ProfessorX5 How did you get that information? But thank you.
@chaseguy750 You will hear back within this week hopefully, good luck
@xxxaef I’m in a similar boat as per the health issues. Rooting for you.
@uschopeful6 I am in the same exact boat as you, so don’t sweat it. I’m not legacy however, so idk if that makes much difference… I have yet to hear anything, and have been worried as well because as a sophomore transfer I was expecting to receive an sgr.
@John6311 No I did not receive an SGR
@TheWorrisomeGirl don’t worry, there is still more than enough time left to hear a decision. I didn’t have an updates in my portal, the only thing that changed were the documents they wanted for my financial aid.
@collegegirlUSC Sure!
School: Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
Major: Undecided (but I already know I’m going to to try and declare a double major in Comparative Literature (Media Track), and Narrative Studies, with a minor in Cinematic Arts)
GPA: I had a 3.86 when I applied, and I had a 3.9 when I sent my grades again in January.
I was rejected last year, and so I reapplied this year.
I only had one recc letter, and it was from a teacher who I didn’t really know.
My essays were, I think, 8.5/10
I was also accepted into Pepperdine, and The New School.
I haven’t heard back from NYU.
Good Luck, Everyone!

@Cindyciclta
I have a 4.0 GPA
I completed most of my pre reqs
I will be transferring as a Junior.
Recommendation letter from Calc and Econ professors
Very good essays, they were edited by a friend who is a published journalist.
@John6311 I have not received a SGR.
@PolinaMadison what documents changed in your financial aid? You said that was the only thing that changed??
@mateenjan1 wow, you got a 4.0 junior standing but didn’t get into your choice major?
Why do you think that is?
@BIMguy Actually, in the 2014 thread at least, most people that got accepted heard back closer to 3 weeks. I heard back in about 9 days and I was rejected. Definitely not enough rejection data for me to declare any kind of rejection pattern, but not hearing back in exactly 2 weeks isn’t anything bad
@cctousc Four year university with some CC classes. I know! USC’s program is amazing, and I will apply again if I don’t get in this year.
@ashurikko
How many units have you completed so far? I finished all the GEs by fall 2015 so for winter and spring 2016, I’ve been taking some fun or interesting GEs (graphic design, beginning computer science, mass comm impact on society class) but just make sure they transfer. Even took one pass/no pass. You could also take the 2 quarters or 1 semester of a language that they recommend for comm majors if you havent done so already. I only took 3 classes in winter and 2 in spring because I’m around at the max units. So up to you! Take it easy though and keep up GPA
@hopefuluscparent well about Monday of last week they asked me for “Copy of parent’s 2015 federal income tax return for verification” Then once I sent that in, on Friday, they asked for my mom’s W-2 Form. Friday is also the day my acceptance letter is dated.
(They also asked for another form, but I called them and explained (clarified) my situation to them, and they told me to just upload a word document saying that the form request was a mistake).
If we have submitted our Spring Grades when should we expect to hear back? I submitted last week so should I still expect a response in Mid July?
Have any sophomore transfers gotten accepted yet?
Best news of my life!! Dreams do come true!!
Entering as a sophomore!
School: Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
Major: Undecided, I think I’ll do something with humanities and performing arts? Honestly, I have no idea yet…
GPA: I had a 3.80 when I applied, and I had a 3.87 for my SGR.
I am transferring from Azusa Pacific University.
Extracurriculars/Job Experience: Debate Team (I won a couple awards), Tutor (paid or volunteer), National Honor Society of Leadership and Success, Alpha Group (Volunteering), Volunteered with the theater
No, I didn’t have a recommendation letter.
I think my essays were great!! I got USC transfers to read it, one said I killed it and another said it was decent. A lot of college students and writing center tutors read my essays and I worked really hard on them.
I have 31 college units right now, I don’t know how many of them crossover, but most of them were GEs.
@BIMguy Hey! I hope you remember me, you told me to email or call my counselor, so I emailed her on Thursday, and she just replied back to me saying this, “You will hear from us by June 1st with either a decision or a request for spring grades”. So basically nothing new…
After emailing my counselor last week they responded today saying they will be mailing out SGRs and decisions by the end of this week
