So my intro to psych class won’t transfer? not even for elective credit?
These are the classes I have taken/taking so far. Can anyone tell me if they’ll be able to transfer?
FALL:
Intro to Sociology
Principles of Microecon
College Algebra (for minimum math requirement)
SPRING:
Elementary Statistics
General Biology (with lab)
Public Speaking
College Comp 1
Intro to Psychology
SUMMER:
College Composition 2 (minimum English requirement)
Intro to Business Statistics
US History 1
Social Ethics
@uschopful6 What major are you applying to? I think your freshman seminar requirement might not transfer and you might be under 30 units. I have taken 37 units in total and I know that I have taken a 3 unit freshman seminar class last fall semester that isn’t USC transferrable, so I’m at 34 units. And also it’s good that you’re taking honor courses, but I don’t think they take into account the honor classes.
@ashurikko intro to psych will not, and I’ve seen most of them transfer I think, however on one of Marshall’s pages it says that both Econ classes are to be taken at USC (but I have seen a lot of people on here get accepted after taking them I think). The best thing to do is look up your school on the articulation agreements page and figure out which courses transfer, here is the link: https://camel2.usc.edu/articagrmt/artic_hist_range.aspx
http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergrad/buad/admissions/transfer here is the link that lists the recommended preparation for transferring to Marshall, if anyone may need to take a look
@penntousc I used that but my school doesn’t come up, so I’ve been using universities in my state and comparing courses from that. I pretty sure I’m taking a risk by doing that but I guess a majority of my classes are okay so far. Didn’t know about intro to psych though which really sucks…
Anyone still waiting for Marshall and didn’t receive a sgr? I feel like most of the marshall acceptances already went out
Some intro to Pysch classes do in fact transfer (especially from other 4 years), depends on the school they are coming from. You have to base things on articulation agreements, not someone else’s school. If they don’t have one on your school, you can look at a comparable school and hope, or you just won’t know till your credits post which is later.
@ashurikko well in that case it may transfer, don’t hold me to that because I’m basing what I’ve been saying off of research and contact I’ve had with my USC regional admissions counselor
@ashurikko just out of curiosity, are you at a college in CA or are you OOS?
@penntousc OOS and a CC… so the process has been kind of rough
still waiting on marshall…junior transfer…no sgr…
still waiting on Marshall, sophomore transfer, no SGR…I am already almost sure that I am rejected((((
I’m a sophomore applicant for Annenberg and I have heard NOTHING. I guess we keep waiting
@zettasyntax ahhh i see, thank you!! One more question (sorry for asking too many questions lol), how accurate is the financial aid letter in comparison to the actual thing? Like are we forsure getting that amount of gift aid once we enroll?
I have less than 30 units currently and am a sophomore applicant from a ccc. I’m going to definitely apply this fall again, using this application as a test trial to see if I get in or not. My high school gpa from last year when I graduated was a 4.0 weighted. Maybe I have a (slim) chance? Not expecting an acceptance anyway
Does anyone know if people with SGR receive any news about financial aid. Cause I still have to send them my parents tax returns. Or do they only review your financial aid if your accepted first?
Got SGR about a week ago. I have 35 credits with 3.84 GPA (time of application). However, my spring semester is not looking so great… no C’s but looking at 3.5 GPA with 16 credits. I am worried now… anybody in my shoes?
@ashurikko My son received no need based aid, but he was awarded a transfer merit scholarship.
@penntousc @zettasyntax thanks for the link, it gives really detailed transfer classes, I recommend everyone to check it too!
