I got a SGR on May 12, sent on ~May 18 and got acceptance letter from Marshall yesterday. Dated May 21. Good luck everyone!
@imgonnagetin congrats! do you mind sharing your stats? are you a sophomore or a junior?
did you received your letter in the mail or did you find out on your portal
@imgonnagetin Congarats!!!
@masechka1988 I actually start my first semester at CC this fall and I’m looking to transfer as a sophomore, I began looking at this thread and getting active so I could sort of be a sponge and take in as much information as possible so my transfer goes smoothly, so I’m not currently a student. I apologize for the misunderstanding though, I just figured with all the research I’ve done on transferring to USC I could help a few people out while learning more about the process.
@transfercool @bigstom
Have either of you heard from Price?
@pomeranian4rich I received it in the mail yesterday. My you.usc portal has already been updated. As I said, I got a SGR on May 12, sent it around May 18, and got my acceptance letter May 26, dated May 21. I live overseas and got the package through DHL.
Accepted Marshall - Business Administration
GPA: 4.0 - 63 units (All pre-reqs done)
ECs: Good
Essays: 6.5/10
International Student
Accepted: UCLA Biz Econ, USC Marshall (most likely going to UCLA)
Transferring from Pasadena City College as a Junior.
I got a request yesterday from financial aid to submit a parent asset form. Is this a sign that I’m getting in ? I haven’t heard anything from Marshall, no sgr…Nothing! Gap is 3.73. Transferring from ccc with 54 units
@masechka1988 I actually emailed my counselor again this morning asking about the EC’s to verify it, and she just replied saying:
"Hi Cory,
Extracurricular activities really do not play a factor in transfer admissions for us. You should be involved in the things you enjoy!
Best,
Brittany"
But again, it really could vary depending on the counselor
I just submitted my spring grades through the you.usc portal, should I also send it in by mail? If a 4.0 Spring semester doesn’t assure me admission, I am dropping out…
Well the waiting game officially begins :-S
@penntousc oh I see. Well, it’s not a big role for transferring but I guess it is a plus for you and your app anyways
@masechka1988 oh absolutely, and it’s hard to hold these counselor’s to their word considering they say every year that everyone hears by June 1st lol
@imgonnagetin ayeee go pcc! do you mind telling me what classes you took at pcc?
@imgonnagetin Any scholarships offered by USC with that GPA?
@masechka1988 Yeah, mid-July is definitely a possibility for people that get SGRs, but I think cctousc is referring to when last year, I received my decision on June 6th - 5 days after their June 1st deadline. I didn’t hear anything on June 1st, no SGR (I had ~100 units, so I didn’t really expect one), no acceptance, no rejection - nothing. When I called on June 3rd, suddenly the girl I spoke with said something like “Oh, June 1st is our goal, but by no means is it a set deadline to notify everyone of some type of decision, so just be patient”
@nyuorusc It’s possible! Some people have been getting accepted very shortly after receiving a request for more info, but I don’t remember what the specific form is. Maybe some other applicants that noticed this can tell you
Another day and nothing in the mail for my son. They’re cutting the June 1 deadline really close since Monday is a holiday.
@topchoiceschool No scholarships…
@NosyParent16 Same here. I’m getting pretty bummed about it.
I’m still hoping for good new soon, but at this point it’s hard not to think that I’ve possibly been rejected
Good luck to your son, I really hope he hears good news soon! I’m cheering on everyone, USC is such a great school. I’m hoping a flood of acceptance posts will flow onto this thread real soon
Anyone on TTP or knows someone on TTP who is still waiting?
Do lower GPA (3.2 to 3.5) Marshall applicants ever get admitted?
