2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@qwality2953 alright thanks for the info, I heard something about that I just wanted another opinion.

@Trojan2119 It sure was! Some of my favorite people on here from last year didn’t even start to hear back about their fate and were SGR-less until around May 20th or so. It’s perfectly normal, but I definitely understand why people get nervous given the tendency for USC to send rejections last; that had me sweating too =\

@fighton7 I remember somebody from the 2014 transfer thread that said they got into Marshall with a 2.7! They must have had a heck of an essay or something  but that makes me think it is possible. I would never expect something like that to happen at a school like UCLA :stuck_out_tongue:

@cctousc Awesome, I’m a big fan of non-trad students  I did feel bad choosing USC after I had been “Bruintized” :stuck_out_tongue: but that orientation day was just so horrific for me =\

Do you think they will mail most decisions tomorrow? Since it is 3 day weekend and Tuesday is already May 31st

@Cindyciclta For that major theres only 1 science preq, correct? I applied for Marshall, but if I get accepted, I will definitely try to switch into that major. Also, is there any comsci preqs? I was looking at the transfer planning guide and it said there was none, but I’m not sure though.

@imgonnagetin Damn, any tuition grants?

Good to hear @zettasyntax !!! I can’t thank you enough for all the help you’ve given me and everyone else in this thread for the past couple of months!!! Fight On!

Just got accepted as a comms major!! Can’t believe it!

@jheintz congrats!! I’m applying to Annenberg next year! if you dont mind, can you tell me your stats?

@jheintz congratz!!! I’m comm major and still waiting… did you got back your result from mail or online?

@jheintz, did you get that via postal mail, or youSC? Congrats.

@topchoiceschool yeah it wants 2 semesters of one science that would fullfill the comp sci requirements I think. But I only did one semester of physics. My plan is that if I get in, I’ll use that physic class as a GE requirement and not a pre major requirment. Then, take bio or chem at USC that fullfill one of the Pre major requirement.

None of my comp sci classes in my community college would transfer as a specific class only as credit. It means I would have to retake it again when I transfer. So I didn’t take any at all.

Btw I’m a soph transfer, if you’re a junior, it might be different.

Hey, anyone with SGR receive any scholarship information stuff? Im SGR and I just got e-mail notifying me about the scholarship I am eligible for. It asked for my info and to turn in as soon as possible. Does this mean nothing? I mean, I got SGR so I guess it does not mean anything…

Hey, does anyone know how long it will take after sending transcripts to hear back?

Hi! I received a Spring Grade Request on April 20th and sent my transcript in on the 12th. How long does the decision process after sending grades in usually take?
Thanks for your help!!

You should hear from us by mid-June with a decision.

Accepted Annenberg - Communications
Junior transfer from Sonoma State University
GPA: 3.75 - 60 units
Completed all pre-req’s
ECs: Sorority, job,
Very solid letter of recommendation

No oasis access, my you.usc portal has still not been updated, I got the letter in the mail dated May 24th.

I applied last year as a sophomore applicant with a 3.69 GPA, received an SGR at the end of May and then was later denied last mid-June. I applied again and was accepted this time without an SGR. Fight on!!!

Wow Thank you!

@jheintz any recommendations on what classes to take? right now I’m taking some statistics courses to prepare for the Communications major and I’m curious as to what other courses you took

Anyone else on here from the tri state area with Brittany baker as a counselor?

@ucsborusc There is an official, private USC 2016 transfer students group on Facebook. After you pay your $300 enrollment commitment deposit, the link to the group will show up on your youSC portal.

@NosyParent16 hi! That is actually my comment and I’ve also been told I’ll hear by mid July and June first all from 3 separate people so I have no idea who is right in this!!
