2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@AwesomeHero admit for spring is still better than rejection… I would take that anyday. This SGR and another wait for about a month is killing me!

@Sxsxjx 10k/yr, so 20k for 2 yrs is not a lot for long term. Money of this magnitude should not be a factor. If you live east coast, NE may be better. If you live in CA, USC would be better. I have very similar situation. 30k more for USC. Assume the cost is same, then think which one you want to keep in your heart for your lifetime. That will be the answer.

on facebook, usc admission post:Admission counselors will be out of the office for a conference until June 3. We appreciate your patience, and will answer your emails and phone calls when we return.

Do you think that will delay decisions? @LuNayyy

@John6311 probably, but I hope the decisions will come out on time

@zettasyntax Here is her response
Hi Marina,
Competitive applicants demonstrate consistent full-time academic coursework. This entails 14-16 units a semester for at least a year, preferably during the year in which the student is applying. You have a very strong GPA, and we took into consideration that you were able to keep your GPA high having a family; however, you could not demonstrate us cosistent full-time work during the year of 2015. If you would like help planning your schedule in the fall, I’d be happy to assist you.

@bigstom it took mine two weeks for it to disappear after submitting my sgr. I’m hoping we both get in. I have a 4.0gpa for spring semester. both my first two semesters in college look really impressive(i hope) with only one B. I hope that shows them that I can do more than what a full time student can. (Fall: 17 units, 3.7gpa Spring: 20units,4.0gpa )

@atlashoney how did u find out? And what’s the date?

My portal was updated an hour ago. But the letter is dated May 28th. The address on the letter is my mom’s address so I’m assuming the package is sitting in her mailbox.

I ust logged in to my portal and for some reason I only have “Application Status” and “Submit Documents”
I tried refreshing and nothing changes literally everything form financial aid is gone
can anyone give me insight @zettasyntax has this ever happened
on application status it says the same message that it said since February

so I have been reading the thread, does the mail come first or the portal when it is an acceptance?

@pomeranian4rich, sorry it took a while to get back to you. My first choice was psychology. From what I understand, I believe I have my statistics prereq and psych101 prereq completed. I think they rejected me because of a “slow progress toward degree” or perhaps not being enrolled full-time on a consistent basis.

There’s no option to appeal for me listed. But I do want to appeal. I think I have demonstrated that I can handle full-time coursework as I had taken 13 credits during the Fall.

@pomeranian4rich I hope we both get in too! I am just so worried about the SGR thing still being there because im paranoid that maybe it didnt go through or something. D:

@collegegirlUSC did you receive an SGR? That’s really weird that your portal looks like that

@masechka1988 Hmm, I guess it really might be dependent on the counselor then. I went back and checked on the user’s posts (because I’m a stalker) and while he definitely had a great GPA, even he admitted that he had weak EC’s. And he was only taking 1 class in the spring semester apparently. He said he kept bugging his counselor and she eventually asked the reason as to why he was only taking 1 class for the spring semester. It definitely sucks given that your recent semester is full-time :frowning:

@collegegirlUSC What happened to your portal? Sometimes it does have a history of being glitchy. I’m sorry I don’t really have better insight, but it’s nothing to be worried/concerned about  I could still see everything even after being rejected my first application cycle.

@collegegirlUSC My portal wigged out before they posted my decision too. But “Application Status” changes to “Admission Decision”

rejected
did not receive sgr
