I am really hoping to get accepted because I didn’t get that rejection letter about two nights ago around midnight so that just brought out my hope
@Skc313 Thank you! I submitted the transcript electronically through my school’s site (quickest way possible) and also screenshot and submitted my unofficial transcript through their upload feature on you.sc portal.
The people that have been unfortunately rejected have not received an SGR, right?
I don’t know if this will help at all, but I contacted my counselor yesterday asking what the common reasons for rejection were, and here was her response:
"Hi Cory,
The main reasons that transfer students are denied are:
-they have not satisfied our math or writing requirement
-they have mostly taken courses that are not relevant to their major or general education
-they have not been enrolled full-time
-they have not earned mostly A’s
-they have applied to a talent based major and were not selected by that committee
It seems like you are already on the path to being a competitive applicant. At this point, I would recommend working hard to get strong grades in the college courses you selected!
Best,
Brittany"
You have applied already, right ^
Looking at all of these decisions is filling me with so much anxiety :o
SGR’ed, but I’m on quarter system, so I don’t end school until mid-June. It sucks waiting for so long while not knowing what my chances are … anyone else in the same waiting game haha ? Hopefully the SGR pulls through, and good luck to everyone else!!
@BIMguy congrats, what grades did you get in accounting and business calc?
does applying as an “undecided” lower your chances of being accepted?
@John6311 no I’ll be applying next year, I’m just on here trying to learn everything I can before applying and I’ve contacted my counselor a lot + did a lot of research so I figured I’d post what I’ve learned too
@vannnnnns The letter usually arrives first by USPS, then couple days later you.usc portal will update. For me the letter arrived and it updated the next day.
@cgantert do you mind telling us your stats? and whether you’re a sophomore or junior applicant. SGR?
But one of my friends checked his portal first and found out through it, while his rejection letter arrive today, so does rejection and acceptance works differently ?
@vannnnnns normally acceptances are sent through mail first, while rejections are updated on the portal then the physical copy of the letter is mailed.
@mr.transfer I didn’t take Business Calc, I took Calc 1 & 2 instead. I got As in both Accounting classes and a B in Calc 1 and A in Calc 2.
@BIMguy Did you take econ as well? marco or micro? we have similar stats haha! Took calc 1 and 2, both A’s. financial accounting A, and taking managerial accounting right now in the summer( should be an A, too easy).
@pomeranian4rich yes I got As in both Econ classes. The reason I have a 3.78 is because of two programming and one chem class and I got Bs /:
You didn’t apply this year?
@BIMguy thanks for that, I am a marshall applicant received an SGR April 21st and almost finished with my current semester. 3.95 GPA and taking 21 units this semester of which 4 are GE, english requirement and business calc. I will pull 6 A’s and might end up with a B in calc hopeful for A. I also got A’s in both accounting and econ classes.
@BIMguy wow I took chem too and got a B also haha! I did apply this year. got a sgr early may and waiting for a decision :\
Tonight…
Marshall applicants who got accepted. Did you guys take accounting and economics courses? I am going to reapply next year, so I need to start planning out my classes.
