2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@zettasyntax I will apply next year as a junior, and I’ll have my both semesters full time, so they will not have a reason to reject me lol
Thanks a lot for your help and support. We are blessed to have you on this thread :slight_smile:

@zettasyntax I put my first 3 choices for housing as 1 person studios and the last 2 as I bedrooms with 2 ppl. I also applied for gender neutral and performing arts housing in case I do have to get a roommate. I’d rather have a roommate though.

My first semester I had a 3.64 and received a spring grade request and then got a 4.0 in the spring to raise my GPA to 3.84 . I am an applicant to Price. Do you guys think I have a good shot? I had a pretty good essay and really good ECs

@oso766 Yes I did take my econ and acct classes last year. Are you reapplying to transfer again next year? Did you apply to be a sophomore transfer?

@kurobara I know that a lot of people do prefer to be alone, but those are usually the most limited, so anybody would need a bit of luck to score one of those :stuck_out_tongue: :slight_smile: I think most of the fall admits last year were generally okay with their housing and maybe it’s more of an issue with spring admits since really, everybody already has their housing situation figured out. I would’ve been okay with 1 or 2 roommates, but when the temporary housing said I’d be living with 5 other people, I didn’t think it was worth it - even if I did wind up in one of my choices.

@masechka1988 I’m rooting for you :slight_smile: I think they rejected you for a pretty lame reason, so hopefully if you get a new couneslor, I agree; they’d have no reason to reject you :slight_smile: I’ll be around even if nobody notices :stuck_out_tongue:

I got rejected as a junior transfer to Marshall. Anyone have any thoughts/even a possibility if I apply again a junior transfer for next year? I am okay with doing an extra year of school. To me a Marshall undergrad degree is worth enough that I do not believe I need to get my masters.

@pomeranian4rich On the portal. It ended up working out because I was really wanting to go to Chapman but USC’s name is so big its hard to turn down. Definitely believe everything happens for a reason. :slight_smile:

got rejected, math major, gpa 3.4

@LuNayyy when and how did u find out? Are u a sophomore or junior?

Is anyone here an independent student for financial aid purposes? They’re requesting a bunch of forms with my parents information and I don’t know why.

Got rejected by Marshall (Business Admin)
GPA: 3.97
From NorCal CC (international student)
Didn’t complete all the GE requirements since I was originally aiming for UCs (completed Berkeley 7-breadth)
English 2, Calculus 2, Financial Acct 1 in progress (Did pretty bad on the placement tests and took a lot of time completing Eng and Math requirements)
Anybody thinks that I have any chace for apeeal? And can somebody tell me how to appeal?
Thank you!

What are the dates on the letter and I’m sorry to hear this! @Kevinzzz @LuNayyy

@John6311 It’s dated June 1st

@USCimhereforu 2 hours ago, I’m a junior applicants

Did you guys receive an SGR?

Has anyone with an SGR been rejected?

@wmandy can you tell us your stats? gpa? any prereq you’ve completed? if you have a year to spare then go ahead and reapply next year!

Are SGR letters sent to everyone or only certain applicants? What happens if we don’t hear by June 1st like they said?

@megan343 it’s to certain people. Mostly to sophmore applicants… And maybe some junior, based on their decisions. If u haven’t gotten a SGR, You should hear from them soon I’m guessing.

@USCimhereforu Thanks! I received two SGR letters and I am an upcoming junior so I didn’t know if they just mass send them out to everyone. I sent in my grades though so hopefully I will hear soon.
