2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@oso766 do you mind telling us how many units you completed? and what classes or prereq you’ve completed for marshall?

@topchoiceschool @pomeranian4rich Yeah…I thought the acct classes are not required as they didn’t mention on the Transfer Planning Guide… and I was busy taking all the other GE classes. Anyway, I’m gonna stay for another year and re-apply.
@mr.transfer It was a flat out rejection.

@pomeranian4rich 30 units completed

3 /4 of the possible GE’s I could do at my cc (since you have to take 2 of them at USC) - A’s in all three
Business Calculus completed - B
Diversity completed - A

I didn’t complete any economics or accounting courses

@oso766 you didn’t get a sgr?

@pomeranian4rich Nope

Has anybody else still not received anything?

I see on the Transfer Planning Guide it says that “USC will grant the credit shown on this guide unless is a lab science of foreign language course and is not taken in a traditional classroom setting.” Does that mean the online classes won’t be considered as transferable, and even though I took the online classes that are on the requirements, those classes won’t help me to fulfill the GE requirements? Can anybody give me some insights? I’m kinda confused.

@Kevinzzz Is it lab science or foreign language you took online?

@Kevinzzz you answered your own question, it clearly states LAB SCIENCE OR FOREIGN COURSE TAKEN ONLINE WILL NOT TRANSFER, all other online classes will transfer for credit or fulfill GE requirement

@mr.transfer Ohhh…I see… I thought all of the online classes regardless their type will not be accepted. I misinterpreted it.
@LACCryan I took philosophy online.

who decides to accept us into the admitted transfer students fb group once we’ve put down our commitment deposit? has anyone called admissions about this? getting annoyed since I requested to be in it over a week ago and nothing has happened

I haven’t heard anything back from USC today. Am I really going to have to wait until mid-July?? Or do they send out decisions in waves?

@USCsssss I’m wondering the same thing, too. I hope we don’t have to wait much even though they said that decisions were going to be mailed today. I saw on a couple pages back that an applicant called his counselor and the counselor told him that the decisions were in the mail being shipped to their respective locations

Haven’t heard anything either, its so frustrating. I’ll probably call them tomorrow.

Admitted for spring 2017 today!

The wait was killer! Congrats to everyone who got accepted, and good luck to those reapplying or choosing another path :slight_smile:

@pomeranian4rich

currently attend a private college in the Bay Area.
GPA: 3.2 (very low)
ECs: internship at UC Berkeley and 3 jobs along with some high school ones (prefect, sports, fundraising organizations)
completed both accountings, econ classes, calc, english.

do you know if for calc we need to specifically take a business calc class? or is standard calc fine?

thanks for the encouragement. i’m for sure going to email a counselor to maybe see about what to improve on my app (most likely they are going to say grade), but I’m excited. hopefully third times a charm!

@oco766 ok got it. good luck!!

@atlashoney Hey. I’m an independent student.

If you’re under the age of 35 you have to provide your parents financial information (via the css profile). Makes no sense to me because my parents won’t be helping at all, but it is what it is. If you don’t provide the info requested it will impact how much aid you’re given.

@transfercool did you find out through mail or portal

@nittinten I’ve been waiting for over a month now but still haven’t been accepted. They may just be waiting until they have everyone confirmed for enrollment before adding people, but I don’t see how that would be better than adding people as they request.
