@ik1626 if you can’t take it at your university, you can always take it at a community college. They have no restriction on whoever can take the acct class. Well at least for my community college they don’t.
@Ik1626 No, from my understanding they “strongly encourage” taking financial and managerial accounting, but I think that applies more if you’re applying as a junior transfer. They understand that most freshmen will only be able to take GE and maybe a few specialized courses, but they don’t expect you to have those classes done in your freshman. Especially if their sample transfer plan is anything to go by http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergrad/buad/admissions/transfer
You’ll notice that freshman year has the math and writing done because those are the only two courses required to transfer.
For those who submitted their grades after receiving an SGR… how long did it take for them to update your portal and for the submit option to disappear? And about how long after that did you receive your packet in the mail? I know it probably varies for each counselor but I submitted mine on Friday afternoon and just wondering for a date range so I’m not religiously checking my portal every hour Lol
@badmintongirl It seems as though my portal only updated after I called the admissions office to confirm that they received my spring grades.
@badmintongirl yeah they only removed the request from my portal after I called and confirmed that they had my grades. Otherwise, that notice remained on the page. Still haven’t received anymore information though
Hmm the office is probably really slow unless you call them which forces them to actually do something about it asap Lol. I also emailed my counselor but he’s only replied back to me once from the numerous times I’ve emailed him. I’ll give it until Thursday, and if nothing happens then I’ll give the office a call. Thanks friends ~_~
so i just called admissions and they told me that we should hear back in the next week or two and its pretty much rolling admissions now. (this is for people who recieved an sgr )
Rolling admissions?
I was looking back from 2014 and 2015 thread and it seems that most sgr applicants hear back around mid June(acceptance) if you send in your sgr early May. sgr in June will probably hear in mid July and I’ve seen some get their decision a week after in June. I guess we’ll have to wait one more week and see if any sgr applicants get accepted! or maybe it’s this week!
@Sagacity yeah that’s what I figured after reading old threads. decision for sgr applicants might come out next week.
basically if you get admitted they tell you immediately so its not like a hard deadline
@John6311
Has anyone just not heard anything? I’m a sophomore transfer with no SGR and OASIS hasn’t updated since February
I would definitely call admissions
Is it true that if you get accepted to USC you have to get a 3.5 gpa or you’ll get your app rescinded?
Anyone else accepted to SCA?!
Hey so apparently after I wrote my previous post on here this afternoon… my USC portal changed. The option to submit is still there but for “check app status” the text changed back to the huge paragraph. My counselor replied back surprisingly fast too…
@badmintongirl I’m guessing they are starting to look into sophmore applications now!! Oh thank God! This wait is terrible for our health lol
Anyone know how generous USC is with financial aid for people in middle class families? My EFC is $13,000, but after hearing stories of people getting horrendous FA packages, and my parents recently selling my dead grandfather’s property (the profit could be added to my parent’s income), I’m scare they’re going to give me a bad financial package.
My parents make $115,000 a year combined and both my sister and I are in college. Anyone else have a similar financial situation? Parents make decent money but not enough to pay for my college (they refuse to). Sucks.
@worldchanger not to scare you but the reason I’m not going to USC (talked to a couple of managers at my Intel internship) is because of my financial aid package… My parents make around 85k, no mortgage payments, my brother is going to a four-year university too, and I would have to pay 40k (14000 loans + 26000 ERC), not worth it for me…
@BIMguy Have you ever use the USC net price calculator? When you put ur parents info and what not, was it accurate?
