@ayu026 doesn’t ttp applicant need a certain gpa to be admitted? I remember someone posting that all ttp must have a 3.5+gpa for guarantee acceptance
Yeah @pomeranian4rich its 3.6 actually but I believe if she has enough transferable credits then she should be good. Plus, her reason for her lower gpa is justified
Meet the gpa requirement as a TTP and it’s a guarantee (well almost anyway, acceptance is never 100% guaranteed). Anything lower is at discretion of admissions, there are certainly some that get in with lower gpa - particularly if they are at a 4 year university or at one of the international partner schools. A 3.6 and above at those schools is considered far more challenging, they mention this in the transfer guidelines.
@pomeranian4rich @john6311 @cadreamin Yes, that’s correct. It’s 3.6+ now for a guaranteed admission for TTP (almost guaranteed, as @cadreaming stated LOL). But yeah other than that it’s up the admission committee to decide whether or not other aspects my application are strong enough and if they’ll accept my reason of having a lower GPA. I have seen some people with cumulative GPA’s around 3.1 or 3.3 get in. So I’m just keeping my hopes up!
Hey! I’m also a 1st year transferring from UC Riverside haha.
It sucks that we had to wait so long to be able to send our grades (I had to wait until today to send my grades). Anyway, good luck!
@truehappiness Hello!! I’m happy to see that I’m not the only one transferring from UCR. I totally agree, I was a little bit nervous about how long it was going to take for them to post our grades. We were definitely cutting it a bit close to the deadline. Good luck to you too!
So they understand that a GPA could be lower if someone is going to a 4 year university opposed to a community college? And what does TTP mean? @ayu026 @CADREAMIN
TTP is the Trojan Transfer Plan they offer people. Basically they tell you what classes you can take to transfer at certain schools. I went abroad and students at international schools only 3.3 GPA with nothing below a C. I think it’s 3.5 for other schools but they also say if it’s lower they’ll still consider you so you never know.
TTP is offered to high school seniors that do not make the cut in the regular admission cycle. Their rejection letter includes an offer to start the following year by going to any college or going abroad to one of the partner schools. TTP applicants meet with an admission advisor in June/July before their freshman year of college to plan out the courses to take at the other school. They don’t offer this meeting to regular transfer applicants. Legacy and other high scoring applicants in the regular admission round can get offered TTP.
Trying to check the portal but you.usc won’t even load for me to sign in. Anyone else?
@tashanicole same :o
@tashanicole yeah me either. idk whats up
I can login just fine
Has anyone who applied to Annenberg hear back yet after receiving a SGR?
I received a SGR on May 18th and sent in my grades on June 1st. I called them to confirm that they got them on June 7th and they said they did and that I should hear back in the next week or so but there has been nothing yet. My fall GPA was 3.93 and Spring 4.0 and I don’t know if I should wait anymore because I’ve another university deadline by the end of this weekend. What do you guys think are my chances? I’ve heard that there have been people rejected after a 4.0 spring grade in the past years.
Does anyone know if USC notes the difference between a 4.0 from a 4 yr school vs a ccc?
@happyhazelnut what’s your major? it may depend on your major. I’m a Marshall applicant and haven’t heard back yet. 3.8 gpa with a 4.0 spring. sent my sgr early May. I’m assuming that most Marshall applicant will hear back near end of June or early July since a lot of people are applying to Marshall. idk what’s your major but it could be the same reason.
SOOOOO TIRED OF WAITING
@jacklax62 was wondering the same thing! I go to a 4 year and got all A’s but due to two A-'s i didn’t get a 4.0
Update on my admission.
I received a rejection letter today on my YouSC portal (they had my transcript for literally a day, LOL). I’m not that surprised but at the same time heartbroken. I’m submitting an appeal this weekend following up with new information and further explanation of my low GPA. Good luck to everyone else!
