2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

.

@evoerland Yes, it changes in that section. No I don’t know of anyone else.

@topchoiceschool sounds good, thanks! keep us updated

I hate to be the negative one but I’m not sure I’m buying what whoever @eoverland talked to said. I called the main admissions line a few weeks back and someone then told me that they don’t even look at SGRs until after June 30…clearly this isn’t true. A lot of those people aren’t super informed on what’s going on. I’ve been told so many crazy things through the main admissions line. I think regional counselors know the best and most accurate info

@CaliforniaUSC i also spoke with my regional counselor and he said something along the lines of how they are waiting to let people know because they are waiting on people enrolling.

what would the alternative be? why else would they be waiting so long to tell us? its not a good or bad thing in my opinion. they are just waiting to see how many people enroll because they want to make as much money as possible and fill in as many spots as they can…

@CaliforniaUSC he also said that we would hear by friday but idk if i am buying that

I’m just not sure that they have made decisions on all of our applications. It would make more sense for them to wait on making decisions if they’re waiting for “space” information. And my counselor said that receiving a late admissions decision is not reflective of space available, but again they’re clearly all thinking on different wave lengths since yours said the opposite. I don’t even know what to think anymore. At this point it’s all just so arbitrary.

@CaliforniaUSC Yeah, it’s pretty frustrating. I’m looking for information just to calm my nerves but I don’t really thing that you can take anything they say at face value until it is an admission or a rejection. I’m just really happy to be in consideration at all. Marshall is a phenomenal school and the fact that they are even considering us is pretty cool. I’m just hoping for the best at this point. Hopefully everyone will post details that they find out today!

There’s a lot about this whole thing I don’t understand. I submitted my grades 5/12, I finished my freshman year with straight As and a 3.9, yet it’s been silence since then. And then people who submitted their grades 2 weeks ago have already heard back. None of it makes sense to me at all.

Exactly, we can’t take anything they say seriously until we have a decision. Which sucks. Like it isn’t right that we have to wait this long, but what can you do I giess

@CaliforniaUSC you’re marshall right? sorry so many people on this thread. I finished with 44 units 3.7 gpa and 22 units in the spring with a 4.0 i don’t understand either.

Yeah I am @eoverland , no worries. I just don’t get it at this point. My ECs and essays are good, I had 2 really good letters of rec, but it clearly doesn’t mean anything since I’m still here waiting! It’ll be worth it for an acceptance. Trying to hope for the best and prepare for the worst I guess… At this point what else can you do really! At least we’ve made it this far, they could’ve rejected us by now but didn’t. That has to mean something??

This SGR thing works very weird. I submitted my SGR on June 29th and my decision has been made on July 2nd. I found out through portal with a uploaded decision letter. I feel bad for those of you that submitted way earlier than I did and didn’t hear back yet. Keep up! end is near.

@CaliforniaUSC those people heard back quick because they were really high up on their list is what i assume

@CaliforniaUSC I have the same mindset that you have right now. Hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I’m happy that they are at least considering me b/c you’re right, they could’ve just rejected us. There was someone earlier in this thread who got a rejection notification the day after she submitted her spring grades. Stay positive!

@LadyVee exactly- people have been rejected. It’s not like nobody has been rejected and we still don’t know. If that was the case there’d be no hope, but that isn’t the case thank god. And if anyone’s looked at threads from prior years, people did still find out, even acceptances, up until the 15th.

@CaliforniaUSC Yep! I’m not sure if any of the rejections I’ve seen so far were Marshall though, I think I saw a couple on a decision thread that were rejected from Marshall. But either way, I’m trying to be patient.

Are there any OOS applicants left on here? I’m wondering if maybe OOS applicants are by default ranked higher than in state at this point (given that they have the same stats), which wouldn’t be too surprising since USC is known for its diversity.

computer science transfers – do any of you know if our current college cs coursework units are transferable? I looked at USC’s transfer planning guide and it says no coursework equivalent for any of the cs courses.

@tleee12345 I don’t think any CS coursework is transferable, you have to take everything at USC.
